Which is why those in charge of the loan moves should think carefully before sending these youngsters out to these clubs. There's no point having a loan move to play with the 'men' if the receiving club won't play them. It just makes the loan worthless and could actually have the effect of lowering confidence.
yeah ben Woodburn was loaned and was hammered first game and broke his jaw. never really recovered from it in terms of trajectory. rhys williams is as slow as slow can be and just hasn't got any run if games in any loan so he is going to struggle now to get any pro contract imo but getting closer to a pitch and being treated like just another player and not walking round perfect conditions etc can bring a kid on.
Liverpool have submitted a bid for Goncalo Inacio, Portuguese Newspapers claimed it is below market value.
I'm hearing we won't be buying anyone so lets see. I am assuming we are being used by a lot of players to get their names out there. Mbappe is hilarious. kimmich is hilarious Inacio is one that keeps coming up Palhinha just not possible Ko Itakura is just turning up as a new link Piero Hincapié is also not happening it seems who knows.
no idea but a lot of the usual sources are talking down any action. Beck arriving back means he cannot go back out on loan if he plays v arsenal. thats suggests no lb coming. a quality rb has to be "on the list" so I'd sincerely doubt any 6 is coming if trent goes to 6 then there's the matip cb issue. does the club play nice and keep for 12 months to get fit or buy? I don't know. then there's Salah's contract. if he stays then we've 5 forwards so unless someone else is going There's loads of midfielders and if thaigo goes and trent moves there then theres still loads of cms. My view here is that Klopp MIGHT be looking at a RB and CB in the summer. who knows what opportunities arise or players are decided to be shifted on. Alisson Kelleher (HG) hard to keep happy Adrian NEW RB Bradley (HG) Gomez (HG) Konate Quansah (HG) VVD Robertson Tsimikas endo Trent (HG) Szoboszlai Elliott (hg) Jones (hg) Gravenberch Macallister Bajcetic Salah Nunez Diaz Gakpo Jota doak Carvalho (hg) We seem to be "ok" for HG players at the moment although they are young and probably not valued as much. there would certainly be scope to buy foreign players also. Am I missing anyone there? (assumes Thiago and matip go so that means we are seeing speace to buy)
I've long since accepted that we won't see Trent in his traditional role again, and said I'd be happier if we had a proper RB - but that gives us a problem as to who gets dropped. This is why we adopt the hybrid role I suppose, but I just don't like it.
I would imagine that in the summer a CB will be first priority . as for this window i wonder if we are looking at a possible incoming loan
Fulham has disagreed over the valuation of Andre Fluminense wants £25m, Fulham valued him less than that.
Liverpool in talks with Jorg Schmadtke to extend his contract because they are 'very satisfied' with his work and Klopp trusts him on transfers.
If klopp finally moves him to no6. (he subbed him in there v west ham in the QF) then this hybrid stuff ends. I would generally agree that its all well and good having a hybrid role but if the player doing it is not seeing the best way to play it and indulging himself then its worse than useless. Against man utd he needed to go wide. he didn't and we played in 2/3rd of the pitch and made it really easy for man utd unfit and old defenders. Against Newcastle he did actually stay wide for a good proportion of the game. why one game and not the other? who knows. If trent started seeing the bigger need for width as opposed to someone to Hollywooding the ball from the middle then the hybrid role might work well.
cool. I don't think any of us have any idea of the role he played in the summer work or didn't play but there's been a lot of idle internet publications throwing shade at him. I'm not sure who's managing the other aspect of the role which its the technical structure of the footballing club to make sure we've consistent coaching, the medical resources, medical and scouting staff etc. Transfer is one part but the key decisions to sustain the clubs elite staffing is an unknown to me.
There was talk of him doing it all from his villa in Spain but it can't be denied that we did great business in the summer, Caicedo debacle aside.
well he was seen in Kirkby so i sincerely doubt that much of the press talk was very accurate. I doubt he went on a solo run to bid massive money for caicedo either so I'm sure he did what he was told to do and whatever happened thereafter with accepted bids or players happened. I can only assume the players agent lied to us so the critique was bidding on a player who was saying he was only going to chavtown.
I would not be at all surprised if we signed no one. We know Klopps opinion on January. We also have a pretty robust squad for once. I won't be flying the FSG out banner if this is a quiet January for us.
Appeal upheld! Liverpool midfielder avoids ban after ridiculous red card Following his harsh sending off on New Year’s Day, a Liverpool loanee has escaped further punishment having had his appeal upheld by the FA. Tyler Morton joined Hull on a season-long loan deal back in the summer and has made 20 appearances for the Championship side so far in 2023/24.
