My worry is if "superman" Coyle gets injured for any length of time, That would leave us with Christie (who has never looked fit this season)
Christie has been shocking but on second viewing I do believe Lokilo should have been putting a foot in, instead he made a gesture towards him as if that would put him off. Morton was much angrier at Lokilo than Christie.

Rightly so. The plan was clearly that Christie would cover the line and Lokilo cover the cut inside. Lokilo didn’t do the latter, making Christie look useless in a very unfair way, in my view.

It’s clear that we need players in January. A direct replacement for Seri is a must. Sorting out the full back situation is next. I’d rather see Coyle and Greaves as our full backs at the moment and leave a settled back four. Delap is a centre forward. Sharp might be an interesting player alongside him. Campbell and Windass Mk 2 ? It’s possible. More cover on the wings and leave Morton and Twine in their best positions. Too much messing about with changes at present. Need to keep players in their best positions and let them play.
It's a strange one(This Sharp business).

None of us can be sure of his fitness levels, his pace, his agility, what he's here for primarily? He's what,37 now?

I've no doubt that he and Delap could ruffle some feathers playing together but Delap would be asked to do more of the spadework and Connolly at 23 years of age would be confined to the subs bench...Morale wise, that would be the end of him.

Has he been brought in to play the odd 15-20 minute cameo role or are we seriously contemplating playing him from the start of games?

I guess we'll find out in a week or so but it's a strange and curious move for me...

It was how Coyle (who did well 1v1 for the most part too) managed him all game. Delap knocked Clarke off the ball a number of times. Lokilo who should be chomping at the bit simply didn’t do enough.

I know he’s a centre forward I’ve seen him play well enough in that position. Yesterday proved he can play anywhere because he’s a quick strong player. We didn’t score yesterday when he was wide or down the middle not because of him but the other two were ineffective.
Our tactics yesterday were different we played more long balls maybe due to Ingram being in goal, what is the point of playing a small player down the middle and Delap out wide why not swap them over to suit the style of play we were playing.

Agree with most of that. Hopefully, the wheels are not about to come off.....On Vaughan he never ever goes on the outside. He always comes inside because he's got no left foot, then gets easily crowded out. Perhaps he should be on the right.

Same as Twine. Always cuts inside or goes backwards

Has anyone analysed Clarke's goal yesterday,...........
The lad took his goal well but our defending was slack and he got his shot off very easily with the minimum of attention!!!
Clarke's been doing that all season....Getting the ball, wide left usually, cutting in and having a go across the keeper....No surprise when he scored. Why Spuds let him go when he never go a chance is beyond me...Terrific player...Not sure who let him cut inside. If Coyle was still on he might have checked his run. If it was Christie, then he just let him go.

4 defeats in 6 is poor. How we are still in and around the top 6 is crazy and a clear indication that anyone can beat anyone else in this league and go on a run....Bristol and Cov look dark horses to break into the top 6 and take 5th and 6th. With Sunderland close by.

One of many
I have to say I’m so grateful that I experienced watching football in the 60s, 70s and 80s when it was affordable and I could stand on a terrace. It was mostly exciting and attacking was encouraged. It was still a contact sport not a diving competition. Had I gone to my first game watching this boring play-out-from-the-back style I probably wouldn’t have fallen in love with City. I guess that makes me a dinosaur.

I'm sure during the 80s the battle of the 'Giants' at half time was more entertaining...
