Another home game. Some fabulous fare has been gratefully received at St Mary’s lately. We can keep pushing towards the automatic slots with a win.

Plymouth is located at the mouth of the Plym river. This is also where the Plym Sole is fished. The Plym Sole was extremely popular for its use in footwear in the 80s and 90s.

We share the Mayflower in our common histories. After setting sail from Southampton, the ship deporting our religious super nuts then headed to Plymouth to pick up the rest of their cargo.

I have never been to Plymouth. I have been to Devon though. Why does it take longer to get to Devon than to fly to most European holiday locations? This is why it is full of old retired people. The ones who aren’t in Benidorm.

Last time we played Nathan Tella scored. He has been pretty invisible since! We also needed a Che Adams goal in the 94th minute to win it.

3-1 home win.

Southampton v Plymouth Argyle (18:00)

Referee:- JAMES LININGTON
Assistants:- Andrew Fox and Alex James
Fourth Official : Sam Allison

Not liking it being on TV. Going under the radar was suiting us very nicely. That said, we're at fortress St. Mary's, so confident of another win.

Whittaker vs Manning is a match-up I'm nervous about though. Maybe KWP on the left first half, Stephens at RB again. (Any news on Bree?)

Coming up for this one (from Devon), grates with me that Guz bigs up their Mayflower connection when it set sail from Soton ffs. Another fact Home Park is the dullest ground in the country, everything is green and they play in green, can't even see the buggers on the pitch. It's a must win for me.

4 games in 12 days is madness.

Maybe rest Stu and Aribo for this one. Charles/Smallbone/Charly are all fresh.
It is but it suits us as we have the squad size to cope with it. Plus the momentum we've got from all these games is fantastic. I would certainly bring Charles and Smallbone in for this one to freshen up the midfield.

As much as you’d like to keep the team the same given the performance, with such a short turnaround it’s probably not wise. Hopefully Downes, KWP and AArma can start as they’re just quality that can’t be replaced.
Smallbone for Aribo. Alcaraz for Stu. Bree for Manning if fit. Stephens drops back to the bench. Although Fraser has shown so far that super sub is his best position, might have to throw that playbook out the window to give Edozie a rest too. Hopefully the fact that all these players have featured a lot means it won’t ruin the momentum too much, but in theory the home game is when we should be able to make these changes.

The Mayflower had to pull in at Plymouth for a refit because it turned out not to be seaworthy. The burghers of Southampton sold the Puritan refugees a pup, apparently

Bree definitely out for this and Norwich with a fitness update on Tuesday. Martin doesn’t think super bad but needs another scan as there was too much swelling - which doesn’t sound great!

Lots of talk here of resting A-rib-o but he was still running around like an 18 year old after 90 yesterday
Stu needs a rest, I'd start with Smallbone or Charlie in his place and bring him on later if needed
Charlie is still trying to find his role at the moment
Jack at RB is fine by me, maybe we need to pause on the inverted full-back tactic with Manning though, if Whittaker is that much of a threat

Now isn't that just typical of the Metropolitan Liberal Elite to spin the story

It was the Mayflower's companion ship, the Speedwell, that was unseaworthy
It meant they had to call into Plymouth for repairs and then return and abondon its voyage as it was still not seaworthy
Also, the ship was built in Harwich and chartered in London

It was full of religious fundamentalists anyway, so whether we should be claiming credit or blame for it is another matter
