Howe has had too much control following a fluke season I suspect. Regardless his in game management is possibly the worst I've seen here.
The situation is the managers responsibility just like it was under Bruce and McLaren who are of similar ilk in stature. Howe's better but clearly not what's required. Newcastle need to move on to the next level and it's when not if.. From Feb Howe will face the reality it could be close.
He most definitely will mate unless they lose to Sunderland in which case the fans will turn instantly, but the club won't listen to them anyway. The fixtures suggest he'll be losing the next 3 prem games, but he'll get reinforcements and lose this excuse regarding injuries, so if they lose a game or 2 in February he'll be at risk.
It could have been worse, for years I thought they gave us the scousers as a Christmas present to them.
Back from game and to be honest, we could be playing now still and we wouldn't score. We never won a header in the forest box from a cross. Tripps is in the worst run of form but keeps getting played for 90 mins. Burn against Elanga, what was Howe thinking? Our midfield was none existent. Miley is great but hasn't the engine yet or strength to get up and down the pitch for 90 mins. That leaves Longstaff to do the work and he has been shocking since he came back from injury. And finally our right winger, who wont use his right foot, who shoots when he should pass and pass when he should shoot. We aren't at the bottom yet, as January is a shocker. Howe is looking like a rabbit in headlights. He's not thinking anymore, just falling back to the 11 players he had last year and hoping it clicks. He needs 3 players in quickly this window, RW, CDM and Striker. I think top 10 is what we can achieve now as it's going to take to mid Feb before we start to recover. If he loses to Sunderland then all hell will break loose. Never seen such a fall from grace in the last 4 weeks - this is a blip but it could well turn into the blip that sees Howe lose his position if he doesn't turn this around.
I always questioned Howe's decisions even when we were flying high. His reluctance to rotate and stick with his favorites has caught up with us and is costing us. It's especially puzzling to see Tino dropped for Burn. Next month is make or break.
Howe continuing with Trippier in the 11 after recent performances basically sums up everything wrong with him as a coach.
