QPR were really impressive with their aggressive pressing but didn’t take advantage of the space they were finding down our right side in the first half.
Second half it was like a basketball game, end to end, but I think we shaded it on chances created (and not taken). Baz didn’t have too many difficult shots to deal with and he was well protected by THB and Janny B.

 

In theory yes - but if there were a fit main striker leading the line properly then they’d probably be subbed off by the end. Might well be that we get more than one goal. But in the scenario of pressure at the end with a one goal lead in a tricky away game I’d expect the main striker to not necessarily be on the pitch

 

And it increases your insurance premium. Apparently.

 

Yep. We still haven't won an away game by more than one goal this season.

That's not meant to be a negative about today. We won, we kept a clean sheet, I'm happy. Today has been a very good day. But over the course of the season, that statistic does need to change. And the sooner, the better. I don't expect us to sign all three of LB, RW, and ST next month, but hopefully we can sign two.

 

I thought Che was fired up today. And this time without a transfer window being near… oh…

 

Great win. Result the most important thing. Charles sending off not ideal with such a short turnaround in games!

Commentary comment about Che not getting on in 4-0 win against Blackburn. After today’s performance, he’ll be lucky to make the bench. Surely Mara would have scored that Che missed lob.

 

Manning is so obviously a left wingers that got pushed to left back because he wasn't good enough.

Che's hold up play and tackling was very good. Should have been given a pen. Played well. Helped change the game in our favour.

 

I think the main advantage of a fit main striker would be having a greater lead than one goal to defend at the end.

 

I thought he was very good when he came on and looked like he had a point to prove, he defended pretty solidly too.

 

We only went and won another game of Russball.

 

First time we've gone 15 games without a loss since 1950. Only Godders was alive for that!

I say that as I noticed his positioning was completely off at the back twice in the 2nd half. He just isn't a defender and you can tell by the types of mistakes he makes.
