They'll be linked with plenty of players and then it'll be one or two Howe picks which will likely be two hard working British players that nobody is overly excited by. Phillips will be too expensive I suspect, so maybe they'll look at McTominay again?
Sounds like Newcastle aren't likely to do much as all in January. I think it’s a case of seeing the season out and waiting for the summer. Eddie Howe seems fed up having to explain the money isn't really there and January isn't a window where good players are easily available.
Sounds likely considering we ended the summer window having spent pretty much every penny we were allowed to.
Yes and what's happened at Everton is a shot across any owners bows that if they even as much as attempt to compete with the big clubs they can and will now be punished. I actually don't think the Saudis are that arsed about Newcastle and are more focused on the Saudi league because they can't impose their financial strength on Newcastle anyway.
Newcastle should be looking to sell players like , longstaff ,lascelles and Murphy while their stock is higher than it should be. Sell in January please if nothing else.
Because the journos have mouses brains and so he has to repeat himself at every single press conference.
This is true. Could always sell them and loan in some temporary replacements from Saudi. Then go big in the summer. Not longstaff though, need him for the homegrown quota, and he isn't terrible.
Sell them and they can spread costs over years so if they can sell them for a half decent price it would be easy to replace them with better players.
Each window see big names linked but it never happens. Newcastle are not that high up the pecking order and are now pushing the limits of ffp.
Isak happened eventually, after being linked for a while. Otherwise yeah, we seem to move more stealthily, as with Guimaraes and Tonali. By the time the papers realise what's happening, the deals nearly done. Agreed - this time any player with even a reasonably sizeable price tag has got to be deemed very unlikely.
