    this is true.

you want people to be able to come and join in and btw spend money in the community not just the club shop but they really ought to be part of the singing

another thing is a lot of intergenerational angst exists where the younger feel locked out and say the older fans are the quiet ones.

these days the proper lfc support is the away fans that sound lpuder than the kop at times.

too many selling their tickets like an asset for games.

    REFEREE IS : CHRIS KAVANAGH

The fourth official will be Craig Pawson, someone who Klopp has had a run-in with in the past having publically lamented two decisions in Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat away to West Ham back in November 2021.

Kavanagh’s two assistants on the touchlines – Simon Bennett and Dan Robathan – will be somewhat less familiar to Reds fans, while Coote will be joined by Lee Betts in the VAR room.

Of the 16 games in which Kavanagh has been the man in the middle dating back to 2018, Liverpool have emerged victorious in 13 and been beaten on just two occasions.

I'm going to have a little say about fans, especially considering mito has alot to say about something he knows **** all about.

Last time I went sat next to two Americans, they sang for 90 minutes, my lad sat next to me, sang for 90 minutes, the 3 scouse lads in front if me, grumbled like **** for 90 minutes because we got beat.

I've been to anfield numerous times, sometimes it's absolutely bouncing, sometimes it's like a morgue.

Nothing to do with tourists/locals/ selling tickets etc.

The atmosphere against utd was ****e because it was a dull game. Neither team turned up, there was no passion from the players.

The atmosphere and the team is a two way street. You want the crowd to scream and shout, then don't aimlessly pass the ****ing ball about for 90 minutes taking hotshots from anywhere.

that's your opinion and perfectly valid.

my point was simply that the bigger thr game the higher price are getting charged for those tickets and your experience may or may not be what happens.

even sos have backed klopp and said younger fans are frozen out.

It's expensive to go come what may. It's been expensive for years. Do you think they've suddenly put the prices up?

I'll reiterate It's got **** all to do with money, who goes, or who sings.

The crowd feed of the team, the team feed of the crowd.

The team look disinterested, the crowd will struggle.

People pay a fortune to go to anfield, once in a life time experience, you really think they are just going to sit quietly, enjoy their surroundings?

Of course they are going to sing, of course they want it to be bouncing.

This **** about tourists really pisses me off, it's an easy excuse for a **** atmosphere.

CHRIS SUTOON HAS GONE FOR NARROW HOME WIN:

    Liverpool v Arsenal (17:30)
Arsenal will be bolder than Manchester United were at Anfield last week, but then Sheffield United would probably show more attacking intent than Erik ten Hag's side did.

I still think it will be pretty cagey because the Gunners are not as expansive as they were last season, but they still carry a threat.

There is this argument that they are lacking a centre-forward, which I get, but they have shown they can get goals from all areas of their team.

So, I think this will be tight, but Liverpool are at home and I just don't see them drawing another blank. They only know one way to play, they will take the game to Arsenal - and I think they will edge it.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Felix's prediction: What I really love about Anfield, and I have heard Gary Neville say it on TV last year when Manchester United got beaten 7-0, and also Mikel Arteta say it on the Arsenal documentary which I absolutely loved and inhaled, is how it doesn't matter about the personnel in the Liverpool side, or how they are playing, it just has the ability like no other ground in the world to make you feel like you are in quicksand and sort of swallow you up, like things are happening too quickly for you.

I am obsessed with that analogy, that almost spiritual thing how that space just has that effect on the opposition and they get caught up in the moment, and that's what I think will happen to Arsenal here. 3-1

JONES KNOWS BEST HAS GONE FOR NARROW AWAY WIN 0: 1

Gabriel Martinelli's poor return in front of goal - he's scored just twice in his last 19 Premier League appearances - means his shots and goalscorer prices have become rather juicy versus an opponent he has a fantastic record against.

The Brazilian ran Liverpool ragged last season, scoring and assisting in both fixtures as Trent Alexander-Arnold's defensive flaws become particularly noticeable tasked with trying to stop the tricky Brazilian.

He has scored more goals vs Liverpool than any opponent (4) and the out-ball he provides the Gunners, along with his usual trustworthy finishing ability, makes the 11/1 with Sky Bet on him scoring the first goal very attractive. Those who like to play a little safer should also be alerted to his 4/1 anytime score price, the 5/6 for him to have at least one shot on target and the 7/2 for him to register an assist. He can fire Arsenal to a statement win.

    SCORE PREDICTION: 0-1

I agree that it's a sort of feedback loop. Fans can sing as encouragement, but that will never be as loud or as energetic as that spontaneous roar of excitement that accompanies action on the pitch.
It's hard to blame the fans when the game is dull - I struggled to stay awake during the Utd game.
We could be like those fans of visiting foreign teams where they bang drums and chant throughout the game - but that's just not British. :)

Only have to go back to the arsenal game last year. It took Xhaka to square up to TAA for the fans to suddenly wake up and make it an atmosphere and then the players fed off that.

It is a 2 way street. United game the fans were loud and encouraging for thats first 5 minutes because we were rushing them putting United under pressure and that sense of something may happen built which increased the volume. that then fed the team even more.

As others said when we then start passing the ball around the back for 5 minutes with no pressure, the fans can suddenly lull.

In those games you sometimes need a spark to get it back. Be it a tackle or somethjng.

I don’t even thing it’s just singing. You could sing for 90 mins but it’s not the same as an atmosphere where there a murder around and those gasps and roars etc.

You see when a player waves there arms or klopp does and a huge roar and clap goes up. That’s what generated an atmosphere with a few songs in between imo

And there IS the problem. The priority is getting money into the club, those with less money can't afford to go. Maybe they're the more passionate ones that actually join in...

I still don’t get why a huge club woukdnt go - were putting all our ticket prices at £15 a ticket for the foreseeable future.

If any big club (and that’s really anyone in top half of prem) did it and make a massive deal out of it other clubs would have to follow. The outrage that say liverpool are changing £15 yet other fans are having to pay £60 a ticket will soon have ramifications. The actual money earned from ticket sales is so small in comparison to tv money that it will hardly be felt.

and the good PR it would get across the world would be huge. You’d attract local families

there's £9 tickets available in very limited quantities for locals with no grumbling.

all clubs subsidise the away fans and tickets are far cheaper that home tickets usually. again no real grumbling.

everyone knows the prices in stadia is about one fifth the total revenue of big clubs and a large portion of that is hospitality etc as well.

a lot of big clubs could take their upper tier gods like our main and now anfield road stands and make the lot of them cheap but require photo Id to gain entry.

the close seats to thr pitch are treated as premium anyway

I think Klopp is just geeing up the crowd for this week to help the team
Using what was a negative comment from Neville to turn it on its head and get a reaction
    Just my opinion like

David James says we could get at Arsenal by shooting at Raya.

Seemed to me like a bit later
It certainly wasn’t in any of the post match interviews I saw
But if he has been able to communicate it would not matter
They will absolutely be briefed on matters before they face cameras
On a number of occasions managers comment that they have re watched something
Tbf they also say they haven’t had chance to watch when it’s something they don’t want to acknowledge

Whether it got back to him, was his true feelings on the night, or a combination of the 2, he’s been proactive with it. We need to make this a CL semi-final type night if we want to win the game and then start to truly believe as a club.

The title is up for grabs this season and he ****ing knows it.
