So his new contract offer is about £29,000 a week.

Can we better that? Can we afford it?
Could we get better value by signing a couple of players for this outlay? Does he want to come here?

Find out in the next enthralling instalment if the Cardiff City transfer window, opening on January 1st.
Or reduce the wage bill by offloading some of the fringe players who’s job is to keep the subs bench warm.

You wonder who at the club is actually making the decisions over possible targets.

Have we got a transfer committee any more? Tan would have to sanction the money but who is actually selecting the options?

If it's down to Bulut I bet he knows very little about likely UK based candidates given his history abroad and lack of knowledge over here.

I can't see him being railroaded into buying someone domestically he doesn't know so definitely look out for more imports.

Stuck record time.
We need a DoF or similar working with the board to steer the ship.
We're back to careering from crash to crash depending on which manager is at the wheel.
Ineffective, and very expensive when things go mammaries skyward.
No signs of MM's 'one for the future', more older player looking to get into British football and a manager surrounding himself with players he knows who may, or may not, be suitable for the championship.
I wonder who was the driving force behind the likes of Meite, Bowler, Grant et al? Not players he will have known.
I'm all for a couple of trusted advisors being drafted in. I did it when I was setting up project teams. But trying to build the whole structure in that way is folly.
If Jck gets his way and Erol is ousted, another re-build will be coming.
We've talked it to death, but we are in desperate need of some strategic direction. With Tan, Dalman, Choo and Bulut on the bridge, it isn't coming any time soon.
I hope one of them is looking out for icebergs.

We have scouts who report on all players for consideration, then a list is drawn up of targets. Cardiff already had a list before Bullut got here. The new manager would already know players he would target, so players are drawn from those two lists. With Bakasetas his club are desperate to keep him and major interest from other clubs so likely value around £20 million. With no transfer fee and not really paying for players for 2 seasons his wage is not the issue despite what Bullut says. Tan paid the £30k a week to get Bellamy and the same sort of deal for Ramsey one would assume.Tan will sanction a move for the player but the player will choose the club he prefers.Tan will take the advice of Dalman and Bullut then decide. It was a surprise to get Bellamy and Ramsey so not for this player. Bullut knows the playerand he has good relations with him..

Hamstring? Has anyone seen him run?

8 days, plenty of time to arrange travel back to France.
<laugh>
Jck waxes lyrical when Ugbo breaks into a jog.

8 days, hmm. With the junior doctors on strike and hampering his ability to walk, the bad weather limiting driving, rail restrictions, we'll be lucky to get him to Dover in 8 days.
Hell, that far enough.
