It’s never been the same since the days of Leighton Rees, Alun Evans, John Lowe, Eric Bristow, big Cliff Lazarenko, Alan Glazier, Jocky Wilson etc slugging back pints in a haze of smoke……:emoticon-0138-think

Sorry to be an agent of gloom but I find a game of fat men (usually) throwing pointy sticks at a bit of decorated wall to be pretty much a circus. Bah humbug!!!

Agree Bluey. I’ve never understood how darts can be classed as a sport.

A bit like chess. They don't even stand up to do that

    Waiting on BT's reply. <whistle>

    It's a game.

You train for a sport, practice a game.

Get really annoyed when commentators and pundits refer to darts and snooker players as athletes.

    Thank cluck!!!

BT would give up his City ST to have that.

Using Remote's analogy, they would need a Sky Games channel. They could put darts on there as well.

I like darts me…..I don’t watch it but have played it over the years…..not in competitive way but just for fun with my mates

seemed the same as football and rugby too me it’s just another game where you play with rules and try to beat your opponents

Come on now dude. Can you imagine any dart player running 10K around a football pitch? Football is a sport. Darts isn’t.

Let’s look at the oldest forms from Greece ……it’s called the Olympic Games…….some are fat but strong some are strong but nimble some are neither but are accurate

it’s a competition in short …..every game is competitive and if youve not done the practice (whatever your game is) beforehand then you don’t win……now that for me is what sport is, its just another word for a competitive game fluffed up to try and make adults feel better about themselves <laugh>
