Saturday 23rd December 3pm
Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Perisic, van de Ven, Maddison, Sessegnon, Solomon and Bentancur are still injured
Too early for an update on Johnson and Lo Celso.
Bissouma serves the first of his four match ban and Udogie also sits this one out.

Lineups for each side's last league game:

Spurs: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Davies, Udogie; , Sarr, Bissouma, Kulusevski; Johnson, Richarlison, Son.
Subs: Forster, Emerson, Dier, Dorrington, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Donley, Gil, Veliz.
League form: LLDLWW.

Everton: Pickford; Patterson, Tarkowski, Keane, Godfrey; Harrison, Onana, Garner, McNeil; Doucoure; Calvert-Lewin.
Subs: Virginia, Lonergan, Campbell, Dobbin, Hunt, Danjuma, Beto, Chermiti, Metcalfe.
League form: WLWWWW.

Ref: Stuart Attwell. VAR: Michael ****ing Oliver, again.

TV: Not televised in the UK.

How would you like to line up for this one and how do you think we actually will line up?

Bloody hell, I knew they had an upturn in form but hadn't realised it was that good. So of course we have to face them at a time where we've got two suspensions on top of a ton of injuries.
Not ideal timing, but their bench is looking very thin, too.
Two keepers and four inexperienced academy products, plus a few dangerous forwards.
Danjuma's probably going to be well up for this one, unfortunately.

Really hope Johnson plays, I think he will/ should, it was confirmed it wasn't a concussion so a cut shouldn't keep him out of a following fixture.

If he is to miss out though then our midfield could contain Skipp-Berg if Kulu starts at RW, whilst our defence will have either Dier starting at CB or Emerson starting at LB.

Painful.

I don't think it makes sense to change what is now a settled CB partnership and one that has seen us win in back to back games. Davies especially has been impressive in the role and seeing as he and Romero will be the go to option for at least another 4-5 games, I don't see the sense in changing that - especially for a player as bad as Dier.

I think we'll have to just deal with Emerson at LB, with Hojbjerg coming in for Bissouma. I'm not too fussed about the latter change as Biss has been atrocious in recent weeks.

Hope we don't change the CB partnership. Ben has done really well alongside Cuti.
Emerson at LB will bring on the vapours, but there isn't really any other option.

Toffees will be too sticky for us, I fear. <doh>

Ange said Johnson is fine and trained all week, which is great. Should mean no need to play a Skipp-Berg midfield thankfully. Presume just one of Skipp or Hojbjerg will join Kulu and Sarr in the midfield three whilst Johnson starts at RW.

We’ll just close our eyes with regards to the LB spot though.

...

How would you like to line up for this one and how do you think we actually will line up?

Next two games are going to be quite tough.

I would have been tempted to have gone a
bit Audere est facere in advance for this one,
and start Richarlison + Veliz with Son as sub
for this one (and starting XI for Brighton) .

My rationale is that given Son is international
bound for next month, the more home games
we had to try this combo for real, the netter.

Villa are currently driving another nail in your champions league hopes. I mean it must ne highly frustrating that the toon have failed to back up last season only to see Villa being what you dream of being this season.
