Just got home from the match, what a brilliant birthday I’ve had and a city 3-0 win today just capped it off. The team played very well today and to see how all the players piled on twine when he scored that free kick almost brought a tear, either that or I was ****ing shivering lol. When ozan plays like that today he is by far the best in the league. How he controls space is amazing, has such wonderful touch, almost every pass ended up to a player, my MOTM by a country mile, greaves wasn’t far behind, but I’d of shot and not passed at the end of that lung busting run late into the game. Delap is an absolute beast, he frightens the life out of defenders, they know he’s going to cut inside but still cannot stop him. Connelly’s goal was a proper strikers goal, arrived at exactly the right time as the ball arrived at the back post. Who said allsop isn’t much of a stopper and just good with his feet, the save in the second half, one handed around the post was really travelling, great save. Christie had a good game, Morton was 50/50, poor corners and some of his passes weren’t on point but you can forgive him a bit here and there as we are very lucky to have him, gonna be some player very soon. Please Father Christmas I want Delap permanent, Morton until may and 2/3 more quality additions, top six and another day at Wembley would be a very good possibility. Poor Bowler got so much stick from E3 virtually the second he came on, the phrase “ Bowler your ****ing **** “ was used every time he got the ball lol. Now it’s a few jars of amber nectar, raid the celebration tin and just two more sleeps before Spain…. Like I said earlier “ having a ****ing wonderful birthday “ good night and god bless……
Oh....is that not the case already?

The managers
Hull's Liam Rosenior:

"The performance was probably similar to a lot of games we've played this season, but we had a ruthless side to us.

"It was a really pleasing day but we have to maintain this way of playing and in this vein of form.

"The first goal was really important - Aaron was in a perfect position - and then Scott Twine scores a free-kick and Ozan's goal was beautiful.

"I really enjoyed the way we saw the game out. I wanted a clean sheet and it was complete professionalism.

"I always want more but the way we went 2-0 up in the second half and continued to press was magnificent."

Cardiff's Erol Bulut:

"We saw the quality difference between the two teams.

"When you want to be in the play-off positions we have to show much, much more - we are far away from that (reaching the top six).

"We didn't show anything. Maybe in the past I said we want to be around the play-offs, and maybe that was too much pressure on the players.

"I have to ask myself about that. Maybe it was too much for some of the players.

"I try to get the maximum from the team. Maybe I try to ask too much of the players too quickly."

It’s not at all, at his top level it’s clear he’s another level entirely, the question is consistency.
So you're seriously suggesting Tufan should be playing for a top club in Europe? He was immense today and long may it continue, but if you actually think that’s the case, you’re delusional

If Tufan applied himself consistently, he definitely could be playing for a top club in Europe.

Buzzing like the proverbial fridge! What a brilliant, enjoyable game, 3 outstanding goals, 3 points, clean sheet, in play off spots. I was a tad worried about the injuries restricting us, but wow, in contrast to the last game, we were at it from the get go, dominant in possession, in control. I was surprised how little Cardiff offered. Thought there were no weak links, every man played their part, but Tufan MOM, from start to finish he was on it, grafting non stop, he deserved his goal, and then towards end, selfless in trying to play young Vaughan in, when he could have gone for glory himself. Outstanding. I’m looking forward to seeing the first goal again, from our spot in South couldn’t see how he got it in, looked like heading for side netting. And the free kick, well worth the wait and messing around by Cardiff, about Twine, fantastic.

Really enjoyed the afternoon, well done Rosie and team. UTT. Onwards and hopefully upwards. Be rude not to have a glass or two to celebrate before strictly not available!

ps. Happy Birthday @Red top reader hope you have a fab holiday.
I was going to post my match day thoughts, but they’re exactly the same as this ^ so no point in typing the same <cheers>

Wasn't Tufan linked with a move to Liverpool 3-4 years ago? And played in the PL two years ago?

If he could do that, he wouldn't be playing for us in the Championship.

I think that's the point people are making though. He has the potential not the consistency, which is why he's with us. Last night and his game against Sheff Weds show what he can do when he applies himself, and the performance against Cardiff was even better as it's the first time I've seen it against a higher quality team than relegation fodder. If he can take that confidence and apply it regularly then all of a sudden we have one less position to fill in January.
