That was part of what people were complaining about with S1. That they were spending too much time of character development instead of story and that it was a bit boring. Seems they went the other way with S2, sped up the story to make it more exciting.

There is plenty more story to come, there's like 14 books in the series.

I'd have mixed the development with action personally. I don't quite get how you can do a massive action packed finale thst basically resolves everything and then just move on cos you've broken thr wheel no?

but anyway a few white clocks over time etc were needed

Lol, just read that Doctor Who is now gay in the new iteration and Isaac Newton is Asian.

That's not how you promote acceptance... <laugh>. There are lots of great Asian role models from history they could pick.

I'm all for x - rights, but doing things that you know will anger the right wing isn't what's going to promote acceptance, it's going to make people angry.

You want acceptance, create unique, likable characters with whatever demographic you're trying to promote. How the Orville did transgender acceptance is a perfect example. Doctor Who is just trying to piss people off and is going to make things worse by building walls and divisions.

Really.

I mean the actor is Gay, but the Doctor is pretty much without sexuality.

I haven't actually seen him be gay, but article I read said he is now gay as in the character.
Well like I said the actor is and is more flamboyant than any previous actors to portray, so there's probably going to be more flamboyant mannerisms as that's how the actor will act.

But I can't see the Doctor suddenly developing a sexuality and if he did it'd probably be Pan as that would fit the character better.

Perhaps. He has however shown romantic leanings (if not sexual) towards several of his companions starting with that standalone movie in the 90s. It was also implied he was sleeping with QE 1 and there was a French Queen too who I forget which one.

I honestly couldn't give a ****.

He's a time travelling alien, do they even have genders?
Yeah pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter.
I agree.

People need to stop reading Newspapers (online versions as well), they're all pretty much Right-wing mouthpieces. Honestly whether a fictional character is gay or not matters not one bit, its just a chance for these twats to stir up bile and cause division.

3 Body problem. Just saw the 1st episode. Looks good. I think the Fred Hoyle book may be a big clue as to where all this going. RHC would love this - does anyone know how he is?

Isn't it based on the Cixin Liu books? That would surely be the best clue as to where it's going?

Haven't heard anything from RHC in a long while.
