To be fair, it is almost a case of 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, though in this specific case, Meite is more like a 7 than a 6....You don't seem to understand despite numerous attempts at explaining to you.
I can't argue against that Ugbo has scored more than Meite however Ugbo does absolutely nothing else to help the team.
He is useless at winning balls hit up to him.
He has poor control so doesn't hold the ball up when he manages to get it.
He is lightweight and gets dispossessed very easily.
He is poor at passing to his own players and has little creativity.
Meite contributes so much more in those areas and is also physically strong and upsets defenders.
Look at Meite's performance when he came on to replace Ugbo at halftime. He physically challenged and intimidated Millwall's defenders and with Colwill's midfield presence the team's game was raised substantially second half.
Were you there to see this?
Meite to start tomorrow.
I'm sure if Meite gets chances within 6 feet of the goal, like 3 of Ugbo's goals, then he would have an equivalent tally.
Ugbo may well be a better finisher and have more of a poacher instinct, a bit like a much lesser Ernie if you like.
I'd rate Ugbo more than someone like Watters for sure.
But I have to agree that Meite has the better all round game and is more capable of bringing others into play around him and therefore the overall value to the team is greater.
I can't be bothered to look but it'd be interesting to see what % of games we've won with Meite starting versus games where Ugbo has started...
