To be fair, it is almost a case of 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, though in this specific case, Meite is more like a 7 than a 6....

Ugbo may well be a better finisher and have more of a poacher instinct, a bit like a much lesser Ernie if you like.
I'd rate Ugbo more than someone like Watters for sure.

But I have to agree that Meite has the better all round game and is more capable of bringing others into play around him and therefore the overall value to the team is greater.

I can't be bothered to look but it'd be interesting to see what % of games we've won with Meite starting versus games where Ugbo has started...

I appreciate your balanced approach BB but Ugbo contributes no more than goal hanging and that simply isn't enough in the modern game.

With him on the park it is like we are playing with 9 outfield players only.

He creates nothing himself and relies on others to do the donkey work for him. Even his goal at Preston, a good header from just over 6 yards, needed a pinpoint cross from Wintle to create the opportunity.

If you give Meite 7 then Ugbo scrapes a 2 for lacing his boots up. Unless someone else does it for him.

    Where to start?

The team needs 4-5 new players to come straight into the team. If they are loanees then quite simply Bulut needn’t pick most of our current loanees in the match day squad.

Our loan players have been disappointing- Grant is good at running up and down the pitch but his goal threat is minimal at best.

Bowler has been a major disappointment. Where’s the dribbling skills and goals he was banging in for Blackpool?

    Ugbo contributes little.

And Goutas apart the new players are just not much cop. Siopsis has been average for some time since a bright start. Miette is just a big bloke who is bang average.

Without Ramsey and some incoming quality it’s likely going to end up being a long boring season like last season. How long will the fans put up with every home game being the same : non existent first half’s, this ridiculous slow build up from the back and lack of goal threat?

    Just one correction Nin.

    Ugbo contributes nothing.

How long was he on the pitch? 20 minutes plus? Did he do anything?

We were pretty crap all around tonight. Even our usually reliable cb's had poor games.

Like Millwall, if Birmingham had a decent striker they would have had 3 or 4.

How many shots on target did we have second half? One I think, Colwill's late free kick.

I was told last night that Bournemouth are happy to let Kieffer return to us and so is he if the house rumours are true.

However Bournemouth want to beef up their right back position with Adam Smith injury prone and getting on a bit (33 in 2024) and Max Aarons out injured until January at least.

The deal is they want an exchange of Kieffer for Ng. No word of any cash either way.

I'm pretty sure we don't want to lose Ng but where is our greatest need? Pretty obvious after last night.

If Ng left we would have to sign another proven rb as there is no real cover after Romeo.

You don`t have to look far...the last 7 in fact where we only won twice and that was down to Ugbo as a late sub getting the winner, otherwise it is 6 with Meitie and only one win. If anyone is happy losing games with Meitie compared to winning with Ugbo that says it all, It is not football it is madness. If Meitie was scoring and helping us win games I would play him before Ugbo but I am not stupid enough to play him and lose games.

Wintle and Siopsis are supposed to stop attacks in midfield, just look at the last game the floodgates were open in midfield because they cannot do their jobs. People in jobs get the sack if they don`t do the job. If a cb can score 3 goals and your main striker has only 1 it is laughable he must be the worst striker in the chanpionship because anyone worse certainly will not be playing for their team.

Premier clubs know talent when they see it so they will not want Meitie or Wintle. but Arsenal may see Colwill as the next Ramsey, Tanner would also be on the radar especially for those teams in the bottom of the prem. We now have one of the best back four and that is a real bait. If we lose NG we will not be having any attack so someone like Moore would be stranded as he so often was before. Who the hell thinks Moore is worth more than NG, however according to some this Meitie guy is good so we should swap him for Moore they should jump at that, what a joke that is.If you think you know talent better than the best premier scouts then you are in that cloud along with the cuckoo

I did not say anyone on here can see talent. Premier scouts do know talent that is why no one on here is scouting.
