This is a lame argument even for you Diego. As a country we had gone a long way to put right some of the errors of the past, do you think it's now OK to pollute our rivers further?
You can usually tell those that are new to this sort of thing, and are gullible enough to reinforce their in built prejudice with selected soundbites and headlines they think support their view. They generally fail to look at the state of the rest of the western world, and will turn a total blind eye to the long standing mess in the third world and China, which is now just an accepted consequence of the virtue signalling 'green' technology they've been sold. Of course it needs to be cleaner, but it wasn't environmentalists or investigative journalism that brought this information to the press and sundry lightweights, it was the enforcing bodies.
Yes, the Government were in power. It's interesting that you naturally assumed it ment the Conservatives though...
The number of people in Bradford's Pakistani community who have married a cousin has fallen sharply in the past 10 years, a study suggests. Higher educational attainment, new family dynamics and changes in immigration rules are thought to be possible reasons. Juwayriya Ahmed married her cousin in 1988. The 52-year-old teacher says her children once asked her how she and their father met. "I was laughing at them. I said I didn't really meet him. My parents took me to Pakistan and my dad said you're going to marry this person. And I sort of knew who he was, but the first time I met him properly was at the wedding," she says. Ten years ago researchers studying the health of more than 30,000 people in Bradford found that about 60% of babies in the Pakistani community had parents who were first or second cousins, but a new follow-up study of mothers in three inner-city wards finds the figure has dropped to 46%. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-67422918
Is it still legal to marry your cousin in the UK? It certainly used to be and haven't heard of any change, but a drop from 60% to 46% is still very high, the crazy bastards
I have no idea, so googled, and I'm not sure how credible this site is but as you're too lazy to look yourself, it'll do... There is no legal restriction on the marriage of first cousins.
