I see there are is a lot of Scottish fans talking over their striker woes with Shanklands quick success and Dykes missing his opportunities and lacking in confidence. Time for Dykes to hit a rich vein of form now then if he wants to retain his international spot.

I know I've mentioned this before, but when Shankland was on loan at Greenock Morton i flagged him to my contact in the scouting team who passed it up to the first team scouts, who seem to have passed him by. Would have cost peanuts....scored over 100 goal since then and will probs get snapped up by one of the Old Firm soon as they don't like other teams having good players! An opportunity missed I think, would be a better bet than some that we have had since then

We apparently looked at him a while ago but plumped for Dykes instead ! I'd fancy getting a hatful of goals in that pony league though, the days of players like Dalglish and Hansen coming from there are long gone !

We play Dykes completely wrong - and not with loads of crosses in like they do with Scotland but with a poaching strike partner. That's why McTominay and McGinn get so many goals for Scotland. His hold up play is good, and when he was at Queen of the South his strike partner scored 43 goals with Dykes assisting a boatload of them. He hit it off with Charlie, but we've had no-one anywhere near that calibre since he left (even a ****ed Austin would probably be better than what we've been served up)

I don't disagree with that, but I still think he's pony. No matter how we play him, the amount of times he's missed sitters from a couple of yards tells me he's nowhere near being a top striker. Shankland was hailed as being a huge prospect a few years ago and was expected to be prolific. He's stalled badly the last couple of years, and the fact he's still plying his trade up there yells you all you need to know. We really should be looking at the young strikers in France and Germany or indeed Scandinavia and trying to find a cheap gem !

Tony Fernandes has today officially left the club ...
