Braverman should never have been near this job in the first place. The fact Sunak needs her to prop him up shows he shouldn’t be anywhere near the PM job as well. They are not even pretending to look like they are trying to improve things for the people of this country.

It’s just division and promotion of hatred on a daily basis using the likes of their media arms of the express and mail.

Utterly shameless, corrupt and self serving.
Braverman is a problem. Maybe the biggest challenge is whether anybody else capable? Looks to me like there are zero half decent tories left who would take a job on. I have half a feeling she is plotting a quite deliberate path personally, nasty as it is. I reckon Sunak will sack her this week personally, based on the mood music. I know who I would put in office, but it wont happen and it will be some babysitter for 12 months trying to pitch for an opposition berth. Might as well put the country out of its misery and have the GE in the spring. People know my opinion on Starmer and his brand of politics, but we are drifting badly so the sooner we get this over with the better, even if as I suspect it will just be closer to Starmer being ousted by his own party. Hope I am wrong and he makes some great headway, we certainly could do with a bit of hope.

You make a good point.

I'd say we haven't had a real government for two years now ...

... we're difting recklessly and it's quite unsettling tbh.

We may have another 13 or 14 months of this ahead. It is a real worry. I actually think Sunak would be a decent enough PM in other times. I know that wont be the opinion of many, and that is fine. The real problem though is the tories a split so severely, into 3 or 4 groups, nobody can really lead them. Even Truss seems to be attracting followers again. It is beyond belief.

Sunak is no worse than Cameron or May and better than Truss or Johnson imo. The problem is that Johnson wrecked his party, and the country as a byproduct, so dividing both that it'll take years to fix either.

Covid was a disaster, Brexit more so and his divisive nature has put politics back decades imo. Virtually the entire country, save his relentless defenders, have lost faith in politicians our government.

That's a real shame, there are really decent people in all parties imo.

She's an even bigger problem now that it looks like what she said that was apparently so controversial might be right.

Can he sack her based on the weekend's events?

She was right though. Being homeless is a lifestyle choice.
We should send them all home.
Oh hang on.
But it’s the same as being poor or foreign or getting cancer.
Shoot the buggers.

New Foreign secretary apparently.

Looks like, eleven EU countries are shutting their boarders to all foreign nationals and illegal migrants, with EU citizens having to show passport's at boarder crossing.

Supposedly to stop illegal migration moving freely from country to country.

David Cameron has just entered number 10, what the ****.

Should never have left in the first place tbh. He'd just won an unexpected majority. He looks like Disraeli now compared to the ****show that followed. At least you felt like he was reasonably competent.

Interesting times. Will it trigger a Tory civil war.

But muh free movement!

Was only a matter of time until he came back, but like you say he is way more competent than the current circus...which doesn't say much.

At lest in this role he won't be involved in calling a vote for something he believes will be a walk in the park before scurrying away into the darkness.

Surely, it already has. A complete state of chaos reigns.

In fairness to Sunak, he would of been making announcement of changes too the cabinet today.

But muh free movement!

???

Sunak (tory conference)...
We’ve had thirty years of a political system which incentivises the easy decision, not the right one.

Thirty years of vested interests standing in the way of change.

Thirty years of rhetorical ambition which achieves little more than a short-term headline.

This seemed to be aimed at Cameron as much as Tony Blair, and went down badly with the Cameron camp.

???

The EU did a huge song and dance about free movement being written in stone during the Brexit negotiations. They've just proven what some of us said during those negotiations - principles are written in stone only until it's inconvenient for the EU.

Cameron will have to go into the Lord's to do the job as he's not an MP won't he?

I wonder if he can challenge for the leadership from there.....

Good fun this :)

From a business point of view, maybe an extra income stream for the people traffikers. Charge for a few land border crossings even before getting to the channel.
