English football seems to be remarkably incestuous when it comes to ex-players careers. You only have to listen to most of them to realise that they are thick and haven't mastered the English language. Hardly the best combination for a manager or a pundit on TV. They get these jobs because of who they are, not what they can do. I cringe whenever Jermaine Jenas pops up on the One Show as you can tell he has no real clue how to conduct an interview. He doesn't listen to or maybe understand the answer and can't follow-up because of that. The Womens World Cup really highlighted this issue, when the BBC studio was packed full of ex-players and the current Arsenal Women's Manager. Former players spouted off the usual cliches while he gave real insight into how the game, the players and how the coaches should be looking to change things.
I recall Wilson coming back with absolute ****ing stinking form the last time he went out with England.
