Match Preview;
This was the last fixture of last season, and resulted in a 0-2 away win for Bristol City, who finished last year 14th, whilst we finished 20th. This season, Bristol City started with six losses, three draws and six wins in August, September and October, after which they sacked Nigel Pearson as their manager. They then beat Sheffield Wednesday, but remain without a manager at the time of writing this (Tuesday 7th).

Edit: after writing this, they announced the appointment of Liam Manning from Oxford, where he was manager for eight months, but leaves them sitting 2nd in League One.

As for us, last Saturday was better, but we didn't get the points we desperately need. Marti Cifuentes has had a week on the training field, and hopefully a week where a lot of work has been done to get some of our key players up to speed. An on form Willock/Chair/Dykes and we could soon find ourselves clear of trouble. So far I have loved hearing Cifuentes' positive attitude and desire to win games, not sit back and play for draws, and I know it'll take time, but that attitude has to filter down to the players. I enjoyed reading Chair's interview on the official site, partly because he spoke very highly of Ainsworth on a personal level, but also because of the excitement he expressed after the training sessions with Cifuentes. All well and good having heartwarming articles on the official site, but it doesn't count for anything if the results don't start coming on Saturday.

We already know Chair is suspended, but other team news and manager comments to come when on the official, enjoy if you are making it to HQ, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

Also liked Chair's interview on the official. Let's hope that Cif has instilled further belief into Chair as he was vastly improved last week from what I read, and actually managed to get a much-needed goal.

 

Although unfortunately he won't be playing.

TFL advises that the Circle, Hammersmith and City, Jubilee, and District lines will be shut until 15:00 on Saturday, along with the Harrow on the Hill to Aldgate section of the Met line. All for transformative signalling work.

Call me a cynic but I wouldn’t bank on them reopening at 15:00 either.

 

Sounds like the U-Bahn/S-Bahn in Munich. When they're doing tunnel repairs on a weekend they almost never get back working when they said they would. Best to go by bus, or take a taxi if it's a short journey, until things really do get back to normal.

 

We need the goal scoring prowess of Trevor Challis back.
