I said this at the start of the season, and will repeat doubly so now. If we are still in the Championship at the end of the season without a FFP fine, this season will be a huge success, and we can go forward . ( our bad ffp year will have dropped of the end..huzzah) We are in danger of relegation We are close to the FFP fine scenario, because we tried to go for promotion . A quick Warnock fix could be the answer .
The Mittals love Warnock. Warnock likes the Mittals. If he makes himself available he will be the man now that Ferdinand isn't around.
Sorry to read that news, although it was looking pretty inevitable. If he was going to be sacked, it should have been after their last game, not after only losing by the odd goal against a team top of the league, whilst playing 60 mins with 10 men. Presumably it would happened had they won yesterday?. You've had your share of bad luck but something had to change. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to change the dressing room, nor the owners, so it had to be the manager - again. Personally, I have a feeling that the team, or some of them (which is enough) felt they were too good to be managed by a L1 manager and resented it. Also, it is very difficult for a team on the slide, to attract the players needed to pull the club round (never mind the affordability). Therefore the only thing remaining was to get the team playing above their weight. Gareth, I thought, was the man to do that, even though I felt he was up against it from the start. Let's see what a new manager can do. Hopefully the owners can afford to get someone who will command respect from all the players. If they are good enough and give their all for the full 90 minutes, they should beat someone, even without a manager. So good luck to whoever the new manager is and I hope you manage to steer clear of relegation
I would of stuck with him thick or thin No problem dropping a division for me until the club finds its soul again and then builds Couldn’t name anyone that could do the job Football is complete nuts now If any manager has success as QPR then they would be poached anyway Need to take stock of what we are: a very small club with a great heritage that seems to make us believe we belong at a higher level I can only hope they get someone in who can reinvent football and how it could be played at QPR with style and craft I doubt if there is anyone English who could do this. Sick of looking forward to another loads of bollocks from an inbound saviour
Me too. It's academic though. He is the only person who would take it on and on the terms we want ie short- term. As long as he accepts that and is not therefore going to get anxious about the fact they are spending the time between now and the end of the season lining up someone to take over it's the best we can do.
That's about the time the posts about losing the dressing room started. I've been relaxed about Cup games for many years now and could not for the life of me see at the time how the customary cameo appearance twice a year bowing out to lower league opposition justified the reception he got at that time. It is obvious now with hindsight that we would have been much better off if we had stuck instead of twisted with Hughes and Redknapp- no FFP fine for a start. Doubt he would have been around too much longer but if not in the Prem we would certainly be still punching above our weight in the Championship and not looking for miracle workers on free transfers and managers who could be successful on shoestring budgets.
Spot on. Our debts were paid off, we were solvent and in some ways run on a sensible budget by Tango and Cash but who on earth would want someone like them back at the helm?
Pearson sacked from Bristol City. Does this mean they'll go for Warnock? He loves it in the west country. Please don't hijack our only hope of survival!
I should imagine he’d be on the list of potential managers for us. A dour and angry man, dreadful fit for QPR. Might scare some of the players into performing though.
Yeah, me too, but I’m pretty sure based on previous experience that we don’t have any kind of a plan or idea who we want, so anyone available and desperate would have a chance.
That's a bit like investments though. Past performance is not a guarantee of future performance. Still my first choice as there is an element of better the one you know...
