@PINKIE I'll give you an example of a highly contentious issue that has scuppered numerous peace talks, that nevertheless could be realised both in theory and in practice, and that is the establishment of a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem.

This is never, ever happening. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Israel simply will not allow it's population to almost double overnight with the influx of 4 million Palestinians.

And there is no use invoking the passage of time. The more time goes past, the larger the Palestinian diaspora becomes. Give it 10 years and that number will top 5 million. Back when the Right to Return was first introduced, it was 50,000.

I admire your optimism and idealism, but you need to live in the real world.

It's not my bubble

It's the stated wish of the Palestinian refugees.

It's convenient for Israel to say it can never happen. Therefore Palestinians must accept greatly reduced aims.

The conflict will never end until these basic tenants are met.

It is of course the moral and just thing to aim for.

Reckon the right to return is even less realistic than your tourism idea tbh.

This is what I mean by pragmatism, and steps towards an overall solution that is equitable for both sides

Small steps maybe

But the world should not lose sight of the bigger picture, or allow Israel to deny Palestine it's rights because it's 'too difficult'

I understand and agree that pragmatism has to be the conduit by which this done.

Nothing to do with difficult.

If it get's heated they literally bomb the living ****ing **** out of one another.

They aren't nervous about a housing crisis they're concerned about a dead children crisis.

That's the current status quo aye.

It will need leaders in the mould of Arafat / Peres / Rabin again to engineer and implement the kind of future the region needs.

Just bring back the Kingdom of Jerusalem

Region was more at peace with one another with a bunch of crusaders in charge

That first paragraph is wild.

"Crazy Water Aqua Fun Park was a water park in the Gaza Strip that served the territory's small wealthy class.[1] The park opened in May 2010 and was burned down by masked men in September 2010, after being closed by the Palestinian Hamas de facto government for allowing men and women to mingle."

Explain yourself NOW @PINKIE

Yeah that Hamas tourist board strategy needs a rethink <laugh>

To be fair to Hamas they allowed people to keep using the diving board as soon as they’d drained the pool.
