Little bit of Ecstasy of Gold in there towards the end, I think.
Not sure about the way he says baiby, though!

I always really liked the Pretenders. Do you know who the guitarist was who played for the Pogues? I just read a good book by their accordionist, a real model of a self-hating bast*rd. Here he was, the second or third most important person in one of the best bands that ever existed, and I’m not sure he had a good word to say about himself.A stunning evening watching The Pretenders last night. They didn't play a single hit until the encores, preferring to concentrate on the last few albums, particularly the most recent. The crowd cared not a jot and it was a huge success.
I knew i recognised the guitarist but it took me a couple of tracks to remember that as a fresh faced kid, he played for The Pogues. His addition to the band has certainly hardened up the sound and given Chrissie Hynde a new lease of life. She was stunning throughout. Is it really possible that she is 72? Insane.
There was a bit too much 'guitar ****ing' for Mrs B's 'get the **** on with it' preference, but so good was the overall performance that it didn't spoil a great evening.
Nothing on YouTube yet, but hopefully one of the pricks filming it will do the decent thing and share with the rest of us.
Glad to report no sign of Brass in Pocket and t shirts were £5 or £10, depending on the design.Great value for the fans.
I think it's James Walbourne.I always really liked the Pretenders. Do you know who the guitarist was who played for the Pogues? Along side his current stint with The Pretenders he's also got his own band His Lordship who I've seen a number of times live and they're stunning and can thoroughly recommend. The only downside is he's a gooner! But they are playing at The Garage, opposite Highbury & Islington tube station on 17th November, which I'm well pleased about because it's a 10 minute walk from my front door!I think it's James Walbourne.
Very fond of Richard Hawley. Saw him live at Red Rooster in 2021 and he was superb. Also, I've seen a mini documentary about him in which he was interviewed and he comes across as a really decent guy. Unfortunately, I won't be finishing work until 10 tonight, but hopefully the link will still be good. Anyway one of my favouritesAnyone like Richard Hawley , wed 25th 19.00 livestream acoustic set

Is Troxy a Yorkshire version of the Roxy, free whippet and flat cap on entrySo, last night I attended Troxy for the first time. It's a pretty big venue for most of the bands that i want to see, but what a fabulous place and venue. Truly stunning inside and very near to Limehouse DLR Station.
We had tickets for Siouxsie there a few weeks back but a mate wanted them more than I thought I did. Looking back and from reviews, that was probably a mistake!
Hard-Fi were a great and the crowd went ****ing nuts. We hadn't intended to be in amongst them, but suddenly, we were.in the pit at the front. The encores were immense, especially Living For The Weekend. No Feltham Is Singing Out, which for me, is as good as most everything else they played. Oh well, maybe next time?
Now....New York, New York...so good we're seeing them twice. I've got a special look planned...more later!

Have a great trip, mate! Sounds like you'll fit in to a NY Halloween just dandy!Flying out in a few hours. Our cases look like we raided a Victorian outfitters and a sex dungeon! We're not there long enough to make it worthwhile packing vanilla stuff, so we'll just have to dress as creatures of the night during the day.
The blood letting is going well and I'm starting to feel a bit better. Still booze free after 7 weeks and 3 days. I think I miss the idea of it rather than the actuality, a bit like when I stopped smoking.. we shall see!
Anyways, Spurs are top of the table and I'm off to New York with Mrs B, to see The Damned, TWICE!. To say that I am like a dog with 2 dicks would be a significant understatement!!!
COYS!!!
