Anything past Winchester (or Watford at a push) is the north to me

That's what I suspected, and fair enough if you're from the south coast!

I went to Uni in Leicester - a 4 hour drive south from where I lived - and was consistently told I was still in the north. The fact that it was the middle of "The Midlands" clearly wasn't enough of a clue to people. I'd never heard of the Watford Gap services until I was an adult and lots of Londoners told me it's where the North starts - I tried to explain that if it's close enough to the south that lots of southerners know it and no northerners do then it's maybe not a good measure :)

I've actually been at games where we've sung 'dirty Northern bastards' when we're playing someone like Reading <laugh>

Your wingers look like they've got a lot of potential but nowhere near the finished product.

Compare Fatawu's 1 goal and 1 assist against Jack Clarke's 9 goals and 1 assist. You can see he still has a long way to go, yet.

Absolutely... it's potential with Fatawu ... Mavididi has much better stats ... but best thing we have is the squad depth ... quality competition for every place ... it's a long season in the Championship with the games coming thick and fast ...

Coventry isn't too far from here either tbh. Two/two n half hours tops.
Coventry is a **** hole. You'd think the Luftwaffe were still bombing it if you walked around the place.

Only been to the ground which is someway out of the centre but I've heard similar.

Most big towns and cities in the Midlands are dire tbh. Easily the worst part of the country with their dreary accents and ****holes everywhere.

Had mates in Cov and went out there a few times in the 80s - was different level to Leicester and Nottingham that have some nice historic parts - probably down to it being bombed in the war, the rebuild of the centre was a concrete monstrosity- was rough as **** and we nearly got into a brawl with the very aggressive local neanderthals on more than one occasion ... Ghost Town by The Specials was about the Coventry of those times ...
