Match Day Thread Southampton vs Birmingham, Sat, 28 Oct 12:30

Well, I don’t understand how I ended up doing this one. We were a total dog’s dinner last match and still got a point. Like watching paint dry at times, but at least it dried a half decent colour.

We will have our first choice team out - I hope - and might be a little more positive at home. Anyway, football this season was supposed to be fun. Please be better to watch!!

Last couple have been an absolute chore to watch.

However I will stay positive as those that went to the tactics night tell us he does have a plan. Let’s see it Saturday please Russ. We are at home and can build on the late goals. Up the saints

Credit where it's due Loading. I was screaming for you to do something last night and you sent Baz up for the corner, inspired thread management. You're back again on merit.

I'd go with Bree at LB again. Stuie in for Charles. Sulemana back in.

 

Che against his former club.

 

He came off injured yesterday so would think it is unlikely he will start.

 

Manning back in for me. We need the attacking outlet he provides.

 

But he's a defender that can't defend.

 

I thought Bree did ok though. I think overall he is a better defender than Manning. Best in mind he was being played out of position and will only get better/more adventurous in that role. I am pretty sure it was his first 90 mins as Left Back?

 

Yeah Bree's performance was the most important thing about last night. Even if Manning does come back in, Bree will come in handy coming on for KWP in any game we have a comfortable lead in*.


*By 'comfortable', I mean 7-0 up.

 

Agree with the above - Bree is a solid championship defender. Can tell that from the handful of minutes he’s been given

Manning… no comment as I promised to stay positive.

 

Chaz and Sam to come on along with one or two of the academy lads three if we're well in control.

 

I did switch off the match… maybe that worked!

 

I'd be tempted to have Bree right back and KWP left back. Although I've always believed your best players should play in their best position, so it comes down to asking quite how bad manning is?
