I think he's a top coach, just decided to take charge of Chelsea at one of the worst possible moments. Tuchel, him and Poch have all struggled over the last 18 months since Boehly took over. The bloke's played real life football manager and found out 72 new signings aren't going to gel instantaneously, regardless of what manager you have. Ajax could be a great fit for Potter though.
Maguire and Onana being the heroes for Utd. If that’s not a sign the world’s gonna be ending soon then I don’t know what is!
Potter's failure at Chelsea was no surprise. I predicted it wouldn't happen for him there. The new owner was creating mayhem and coming from the methodical planning at Brighton, it was likely he would have little chance to get settled. He's still a decent option for many clubs. He'd have been a really good appointment for an Everton or a Palace. Were he to do well at a club like that, he'd be in with a shout at one of the clubs in the top 8 - maybe a Villa or us. when Postecoglou moves on. What he'd have to do to get a really big job is anyone's guess...but I'd be happy to have with us in the future.
Tonali to be hit with a 10 month ban. Milan have smashed it out the park with this, bagged £60m for a player that wasn’t gonna be able to see out the season.
Seemed a strange decision at the time. Makes you wonder who knew already? Edit: It seems like Newcastle think Milan knew, as they're supposedly set to sue them.
The Premier League has asked an independent commission to dock Everton 12 points. They apparently want to use them as an example for anyone breaking FFP rules. The club went over the limit by nearly £270m. That's... something.
Alejandro Garnacho scuffing the penalty spot before Copenhagen's late chance: https://cazn.me/m/aa42c2 The officials somehow missed this, despite having VAR and there being loads of them. I genuinely think that this should be a ban and a points deduction. Nothing to do with it being Man Utd, it's just blatant, thought out cheating. It's not a spur of the moment thing or a rash decision.
So Chelsea fans will have to get from Wolverhampton to Birmingham for a (high speed) train to London, scheduled for around 6pm. They’ll be back for New Year.
Legally, everyone could get their money back as the date and time of the match has been changed after they bought tickets...would be great if most did it but like you said, unlikely.
Hmm, notable that prior to the christmas fixture melee, Spues and Notts Forest will have had friday fixtures twice (of the total of 6 scheduled for the first half of the season) .
