True but not much better - Luton only a point behind them after 5 games (and have a game in hand...)

There is already a relegation group sorting themselves out sharpish this year.

Bournemouth
Wolves
Sheff U
Everton
Burnley
Luton

Past that 6 the bottom 10 are Chelsea, Man U, Forrest and NUFC - Forrest play Burnley tonight and could be 8 points clear by 9.45 this evening and can't see the others in that group getting sucked in to a relegation battle

Burnley and Luton look like the obvious choices after a few games but both have games in hand on Everton as it stands (Burnley 2 inc tonights game, Luton 1)

I think Wolves will pull clear, Bournemouth are improving leaving one of Everton and Sheff U to join the other 2. Everton may get lucky this season that the three promoted teams just aren't good enough but with any kind of points deduction they'll be in real trouble.

Whilst they're all on the same points, just a cursory look at the games will show the true difference.

I actually think of the bottom 4 right now, you can make a great case for Wolves and Bournemouth pulling away comfortably compared to the others.

Even Sheff U, despite conceding, show a capability to score goals.

Everton for their part look defensively frail and attacking wise, useless.

Everton fans firmly believe they should be competing every season.

Their little efforts to force Moshiri out were masking an arrogant belief that Qatar or some other super rich owner would be desperate to aquire their club.

They were wrong.

They got the American Mike Ashley instead.

Exactly mate.... they thought they'd be queuing up to buy their club and now they've realised they've chased out a guy who's put in huge amounts of cash.

They should be grateful for the new stadium and the attempt made but no they've been ungrateful and demanding to be successful.

Yeah the relegation battle is heating up. That was their chance to create some space.

Look at the bottom six. Nice to see Chelsea in there too. <laugh>

Even with a minus 12 Everton will survive.

The bottom three right now are ****ing atrocious, embarrassment to the Championship

Not sure about that, I think Burnley and Bournemouth will get to 30, maybe even 35 points. Not convinced Everton will get more than 40, they've had a nice enough run of fixtures and are still under a point a game. Their next 10 games are:

West Ham (A)
Brighton (H)
Palace (A)
Man U (H)
Forest (A)
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (H)
Burnley (A)
Tottenham (A)
Man City (H)

I'd make them second favourite in every single one of those and whilst they clearly aren't going to lose all ten of them. They've had 5 home games including Bournemouth, Luton, Wolves and Fulham and only got one positive result.

I was like "You'd put them SECOND favourite?!" for a minute there and then realised that there's only two teams in a game.

Be amazed if they got 12 points, think they'll get 6 - will still put them 19th but only 4 points from Luton. Be interesting to see how long it takes to decide something like that.

They have a really tough run coming up though so they could be cut adrift by the halfway point if they do get the full 12 point deduction. Starting on minus 5 points a quarter of the way through the season would be a horrendous situation for them and I'm not sure they'd be out of the minus points by the time Xmas rolled around....
