We need to be changing now....as for Potter...unrealistic....he'll get the next prem job that comes along
You mean the fitness that has led to us having one of the better records for scoring late in games and finishing stronger? Obviously if you're playing technically superior players then sometimes you have to work harder to accommodate them. Which we did for 70 mins and they had £20m players to bring on when theirs tired. The players we brought on in forward areas didn't have the same. Impact - but given the difference in squad depth that's hardly unsurprising.
I think acun/tan need to be making it clear to LR that results have to improve, but I still think it's a tad to early. Although a couple of losses weds&sat and that could change.
Doubt a couple of wins (as is as likely) would change it much in some people's eyes. You don't sack your way to success. Especially not when we've been top half all season and your squad has only been together 7 games. Think Ipswich would be where they are now without 2-3 years stability?
Thanks for pointing that out, I'd be lost without your knowledge and stats. I said I realise it's part of modern football but I think it's over played at this level and makes the game boring to watch.
Well our form shows 2 wins isn't as likely, but if we get that then we continue to build on it, but if it's 2 losses then questions quite rightly should be asked at a deeper level. As I've said for. While now, if we are happy with mid table then LR is fine for us. But personally I want more and I think we all know Acun didn't buy us the be a safe mid table team. Our squad is capable of more then that but after a year of LR ( or as close as can be ) I'm really not sure LR is yet.
The stats show we'll probably draw. We've won more than we've lost, so statistically 2 consecutive defeats is less likely than 2 wins - especially if you take into account who have actually beat us and in what fashion. Though in reality it'll most likely be neither. We do need a win in the next 2 though. I agree there.
I think the next 4 matches against teams around or below us in the table will give us a much better feel for where we are as a team. At the start of the season, looking at the strength of the relegated teams and with most pundits thinking Ipswich would be a force, I thought this was a very tough season in which to expect much more than mid table. We've played all those teams and gone toe to toe with all of them bar Ipswich. We now have a run against , on paper, more 'average' teams. We should be getting 7 or 8 points from the next 12.
It's been a tougher than average first dozen games. But we do have some trickier fixtures out of the way compared with some others. If there is a concern for me, it's not the Ipswich's and Saints - it's putting away the more average sides when we've been on top and wasted the opportunities.
Will you FO with well 'we can't compete because they cost more than us'...Did Luton get promoted last year because they has a £265 million squad.....are Ipswich a £265 million squad too... the s*ite you spout...
Every single season in the championship is tough, it's the toughest league in the world. We can't use that as an excuse ever year. If that's the case do we just except we are to be a mid table team and forget any sort of ambition? We have put together a decent squad this season but it's missing the key ( imo ) to getting out the championship.... The correct blend of youth and experience and that's down to LR and nobody else. Letting Oscar go and not thinking he needed replacing is down to LR as those where his wishes. I'm frustrated and critical this season as I know how close this squad is to being genuine promotion contenders, we just don't have a head coach / manager to match it unfortunately ( again imo ). question for everyone I suppose... Do you genuinely believe LR is getting the best out his squad? If no do you genuinely believe LR can get the best out this squad?
Yes, if the table was purely based on goals scored or goals conceded, we're mid table on both. Feels like we're not quite so tight at the back as 2nd half last season and not sufficiently offset that with more goals.
They are outliers. If it was commonplace then clubs wouldn't spend the millions in the first place. And one thing you do seem to be missing is the stability in managerial approach over more than 1 season at the likes of those particular clubs - that's how you outperform your budget not reaching for the axe every time a team with 3.5 the talent nick an injury time winner.
I believe he's been making steady progress throughout his tenure and Rome wasn't built in a day, neither were Luton, Cov or Ipswich with their resources either. If you want to know where sacking mangers every 5 mins with no stability then see Stoke spending 200m and still being ****e, having to use evert trick in the book to avoid FFP sanctions.
One had no managerial experience... the other dragged Forest Green Rovers up and was head hunted by Watford and we all know what happens there... LR CV?
His managerial CV is consistent top half championship record after taking over a basket case less than a year ago, and a few games in L1 where he performed to par with the so called 'experienced' guy who replaced him.
FFS, reading some of these posts on here, anyone would think we’re bottom of the league, we are literally 2 points off 5th & 5 off 3rd! Rosie‘a been here less than a year & people think we’re ****ing Man City with their demands! For the first time in a long time, I’m happy with the manager & I’m happy to plod along for a few years, BUILDING, a team to compete. If we go up this year, we’ll be worse than Sheffield Utd. Greaves would be giving away 3 penalties a game, that’s if he could actually get close enough to the opposition players! Still, at least my fantasy team would be good, as I’d know to stick the penalty taker in my team for our opponents every week.
His championship record/CV shows an average of 1.238 points a game which over a season he'd finish with approx 57 points, last season that was 16th.... One place less then we actually finished. Are we supposed to be happy and encouraged by that?
