I am a member of the LGBT community and it is too far. It’s a serious problem in an era where you get called things like “groomer” and “pervert” when you’re trying to espouse a “please let us exist” stance for the community and somebody publishes something like this. It’s like they don’t want us to be ok and would rather we have to keep struggling.

It just seems extreme for extreme’s sake, like they thought “what’s the worst thing I could put in a kid’s book and claim I’m being victimised about?”

I’ve not looked at this issue in any detail, but did see this article on bbc, which suggests the publisher is claiming that images from the book have been ‘doctored’ online.

My family dog in 1979s/1980s childhood was a mongrel that ate and drank anything organic, and sometime inorganic.. lawnmower petrol once, disappeared for a couple of days at a time shagging and fighting other dogs in the neighbourhood, swam in rivers and lakes and often turned up asleep on building sites, visited a vet once in his life and lived until 14. My wifes dog now has her own sofa, ****s herself if a firework goes off, only eats organic food, refuses to go out in the rain, has to be hand fed when sick and costs about £80 a month in pet insurance and more in food than an elephant would. Times have changed, dogs have and so have their faeces.
