True! I wonder what he'd do if nobody commented on it...

Sky Sports rated Sammy a 7, our joint highest rating with Colo (Krul got no rating at all).

Sammy was great. Constantly ran at Clichy, would be better on the left so he can cross with his left foot without cutting in.

Anybody else feel how every time Ben Arfa got the ball how De Jong didn't wanna get close to him/touch him?

Gutted we lost but sounds like a loss with our heads held high. HBA sounds like he is finding his form again (so good to hear). Happy that the response on Sammy seems positive. All in all based on these responses sounds positive. I in no way expected us to win (bar an outside hope) but glad we can walk away with positives rather than slating faults. HWTL!!

Btw, did anyone notice that there were no yellow cards? Not many fouls, either. It was quite a clean game. Clearly the result of two highly technical, classy and short-passing teams ;)

Yes, it was brilliant. He even skinned him a couple of times as well.

Cabaye had another quiet game I thought.

I think he was to busy helping Guthrie out in defense to shine in attack. Even though Guthrie has been great and probably doesn't deserve to be dropped, but I can't wait till Tiote is back.

Thought both Cabaye and Guthrie were quietly effective tbh. Seemed to keep possession fairly well and pick the right passes when it was on.

    Agree with Chappaz. <ok>

I was impressed with Sammy's energy, pace, skill and confidence, although he's still raw the talent is clearly there to see for all. Guthrie also had another good box-to-box display and Ben Arfa was IMO our personal MOTM, he was brilliant in general and his dribbling, technique, agility and passing is excellent.

In conclusion a good team performance but unfortunately Raylor's two mistakes cost us dearly.

Result was about right, we could have moved up another gear if needed. You will finish top 10 this season.

Pity a few of your so called fans decided to bring firecrackers to the game, no need for that!

Good luck for the remainder of the season lads.

Massive selection headaches for Pardew now. Guthrie has been brilliant.. but is it actually ethical to keep Tiote out the team? We also appeared to miss Best a bit today, Ba looked a bit lost without him... but Ben Arfa looks to be getting back to his brilliant best and was fantastic at points today.

Simpson had more protection then usual mind. More then Obertan has previously given him.

Why don't we play all of them at once?

    4-3-3/4-5-1 formation (attacking/defending respectively) :

    Krul
    Simpson Saylor Colo Santon
    Guthrie Tiote Cabaye
    Ben Arfa Ba Guti

The only problem I see is what happens if it isn't working, where are our game changers?
