I honestly can't remember but the BBC isn't showing him as getting a yellow.

I don't know, the Mrs probably likes it...jokes aside...

    100% Got a yellow!

It was a bad tackle and coyle knew it too.

We should have a thread just for this very topic.

When is the refs report available? Is that even a thing.

Is been discussed many times on here about Oscar going without an extra replacement. However our real problem is we have got to stop conceding.

I agree with this. At least, a poor run of results will put him under an amount of pressure that only a miracle turnaround would probably see him recover from.

I think he’ll probably get until the end of the season, barring a disaster unfolding, but I think realistically he really needs improvements in results imminently.

Sticking to ‘the system’ has so far produced spells of dominance and good football during games, but I think he’s in danger of becoming too rigid. There is no one size fits all unless you’re one of the best teams in the world.

The press association has someone there and all the outlets take their info from that. You will find quite often that match reports on various media outlets will be almost the same. Usually they are touched up a bit by each so they’re not fully identical but share a lot of the meat.

I reckon the weeks running up to Christmas will be crucial for Rosenior - six games in 24 days against mid-ranking teams and a couple of strugglers. If results are poor in those games then the prospect emerges for a new manager to pilot us through the January transfer window.

It's more of a concern for me than our lack of goals. It's just annoying silly little lapses when we're pretty solid for the most part.

It's the summary, but it doesn't get to the nub of the underlying issue though (re. "be more clinical in the final third").
Stuck record, our approach play is so poor- aimless crosses, too few worked on pull backs, players seemingly not on the same wavelength (drills), poor set pieces & routines, no evidence of cohesive attacking plays, etc). Ipswich showed us exactly what we are missing, and it was nothing to do with having better players.
Rosenior needs to sort our attacking play out and quickly. It isn't as simple as 'players pulling the trigger earlier' or whatever. Some of the time goals come from individual brilliance (and we now have the players capable of doing that), some goals come from coached plays. The former is seemingly somehow being stifled, the latter is just not evident, other than the odd success with a long ball from defence over the top!
We can keep working on cutting out the odd mistake till the cows come home. They will still always happen, even to a Man City or Real Madrid. We are not that bad. The emphasis needs to shift to sorting our attacking play (which I fear is not where Rosenior is strong).

I lost count of the number of times we got into some space down the flanks, then it just fizzled out through poor decision making or execution. Lokilo getting into the box, still with space to work with then tamely crossing straight into the Keeper's hands in the second half springs to mind. Although I thought he was decent yesterday and definitely deserves a run of games

Yep. We are not keeping clean sheets or hitting 2 goals enough. Really costing us.

Yeah a concern of mine too, we need more CS. We're relying far too often on needing to score 2+ to get a win in games. Strangely our two CS have come in our two hardest games.

So the one thing that LR has been credited for - improving the defensive side of our game - is starting to lapse?

Not sure I really like the playing around at the back idea full stop. Watched match of the day last night and in the first 2 matches there was 2 howlers gifting 1 goal and should have been another.
Since when did tactics include so much pressure on the goalkeeper to be an outfield player as well. If they are that good they would be an outfield player.

Yes, he's become too obsessed with attacking. We need to slow the play down and be a bit more conservative.

A very enjoyable game of football, first half we played some of the best football thus far IMO. The game hinged on the subs they could bring on against what we had available. Their subs won them the game, whereas, in my opinion, the subs we made were mostly understandable, but the likes of Allahyar and Tufan, they have been out for a number of weeks are rusty, so failed to have any impact on the game.

I certainly don't get the negativity, we are playing much better football that under Shota. Coaches need time to build a team, and it can take 4 or 5 windows to get it right, we have a dressing room that is together, but we have to give managers time. Look at Moyes at WH last season, had a poor season league wise, fans were calling for his head, but they stuck with him and are doing well again. Even McKenna at Ipswich has been there since 2021, has had time to get his squad together, IMO we just need to be patient.

As mentioned, for the first 60 minutes I thought we were very good, both Seri and Morton control the midfield, but the substitution definitely changed the game in Southampton favour. I understood Coyle coming on for Christie as he was being given a torrid time by their winger Sulemana. Though both their goal were nearly identical, LB position, they got to the byline and cutting back into the centre. Vinagre looks okay going forward, but is more a wing back than a full back, so defensively a bit suspect.

If we play like we did yesterday in games going forward against most other teams we will win games, in the first 12 games we have played all the 3 relegated clubs, and bar losing yesterday to more or less the last kick of the game, we have matched them. Keep the faith.
