Interesting discussion on Virgin Media about the scrums and how the ref decided that because SA had the upper hand he decided that England would be penalised at every scrum.... he wasn't reffing the scrum in a balanced way and looking at what SA were doing to get the penalties.....
Gutted. Well played England, nearly got over the line and the gameplan nearly came off but alas it wasn't to be. Rugby can be a cruel mistress.
You often hear after a game "They left it all on the pitch", that game was the ultimate example. Can't be anything but proud of that team from no-hopers at the start of the tournament to a point from the final. Well done all...
we had the exact same against NZ. We physically pushed them back every time but were penalised by the ref.
Bizarre penalty awarded by Ben O'Keefe, at the end, Vincent Kock started with his hips and was driving across the scrum. Genge followed him in.
For the second week in a row a knock out game of rugby the deciding factor is made out of guesswork, is the green player driving across the scrum or the white player?

It seems like there is some good talent to build on for the future and I guess that should be the focus after a difficult night.

There was a strange parallel to Man City v QPR in that game. Underdogs ahead unexpectedly for much of the game until the last few minutes. Still hurts!
