Rosie improved the defence when he arrived by moving out Greaves and Figs and replacing them with Macca and Jones - recently he's put Greaves back in the centre and dropped Macca and we've started shipping goals again and losing - it aint rocket science to see what the problem is - i appreciate some people think Greaves can do no wrong but he's a goal waiting to happen
I thought we were excellent for an hour and then it just seemed to stop. It was a really good game until that point and Southampton were also very good value. Im disappointed to lose but not angry. We’ve performed worse and won already this season. That said, it’s about time we got some more wins on the board.
So again it’s the fans’ and owner’s fault we lost because we pressured Rosenior into playing an ‘attacking team’ at home? We play with two holding midfielders. We lost today because the manager got his subs wrong and we sat off them in the last 15 minutes and basically invited them to try and score a goal.
Yep and we certainly did enough of that today. I think that's why I get a bit perplexed with the reaction. We could have won today and they could also have scored more. It wasn't a bad performance but it wasn't enough. At the same time, I feel like I'm saying that a lot.
That’s not the point I’m making though. You seem to have this thing about other teams having expensive players so we should be lucky to get anything against them, that’s not how it works.
Well it kinda does doesn't it. More often than not. You saying being able to bring a sub on worth as much as we've paid in transfer fees since Acun bought us isn't an advantage?
I thought Saints were **** defensively. From what I can tell from their fans and previous games, they’re pretty **** defensively most of the time. Sunderland put 5 past them. We had enough chances to win the game imo but were too wasteful. I don’t buy the argument that they won because they have a team worth tens of millions and they completely outplayed us. Ipswich utterly outplayed us. This wasn’t the same type of game. They won because for some reason Rosenior decided to play for a draw midway through the second half and allowed them to dictate the game from then on. If we were a bit more positive and a bit more brave, we may have gotten a point or all three. Or we still may have lost but at least we wouldn’t have played for a draw and lost anyway.
Our next three games are:- 25/10 Birmingham away 28/10 Preston home 4/11 West Brom away Acun will be looking at picking up 4 points at least from the possible nine available. I think the clock is ticking on Liam's tenure as coach at City, this is a results based business and Acun & Tan want results.
