Good match this. A couple of times SA have started getting away from us but we have taken wickets to claw them back in.

 

Bowling a fit Willey at the death would be bad enough (he's easily one of the worst death bowlers I've ever seen). But bowling a tired, cramping Willey at the death is just wow.

 

Class from Klaasen. I can't see us chasing this score to be honest. Would love to be proved wrong.

 

Maybe we should stop ****ing bowling first.

 

Good thing that we decided to weaken our batting in order to improve our bowling...

Good thing that we won the toss and choose to let SA set a score...

I suspect that is now our WC over. Klaasen really is the best middle-order white ball batter in the world right now.

 

400 to get, we will get them in singles I expect?

Either Mott is getting sacked as coach in a few weeks, or Jos will be "stepping down" as captain.

 

Mrs J ( who really likes cricket ) thinks Moeen is a much better Captain than Jos .

 

This campaign has been a disaster. Called it at the start of the NZ game but somebody said I was being dumb…

 

One Day Cup needs to be reinstated as a senior competition me thinks. ECB have kneecapped one day cricket here and the chickens are coming home to roost.

 

This will sound awful but why bother with 50 over cricket? 20 Overs is far better. A day of test cricket is 90 overs and a 50 over game is 100. That is too long. Logistically most people want to watch short form cricket over an evening, not a whole day.

 

It depends if you want England to do well in this format really.

 

I think people just prefer shorter form cricket. I want England to do well in every form but I would rather watch T20!

India sure do love a bad drop

 

When the oñe day game started, it was 65 overs! That included a lunch break mid innings, an Interval at the end of the innings and a further tea break during the next innings. 130 overs, so I don't think 50 overs per side is too much!!

 

But it only works for a nice day at the weekends, whereas 20 overs can be played after work.

 

I think there is room for both formats but we can both agree to differ!

 

Given the platform NZ had set between Mitchell and Ravindra, I think they should have got more than that.

Latham, Phillips and Chapman all failed to cash in.
