Anybody who was at the night game at MK Dons a few years ago would have been grateful for a postponement ...
I wouldn't, I had a free ticket for that match. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
If only football fans had the option to stand at games then they'd be no chance of seats getting damaged and the club losing money !
To be fair, if someone went arse over tit going down those steps near the end of the pathway from Argyle Street due to ice, especially an elderly person, it could seriously injure or kill them.
We saw the old guy a few years back who slipped on the ice on the walkway to the MKM, still remember the thud of his head hitting the ground. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I was there. Parked in the car park & then there was a blizzard & couldn’t get out of the car!!! 1-1 Delroy Facey scored for The Tigers
He very obviously isn't saying anything of the sort. It really is bonkers how far people are taking this narrative, now to the extent of pretending to believe that the players are hinting at it too. The players and club seem to be all on the same page. It's only amongst the fans that our passing is seen as such a desperate problem.
I remember a Chelsea game being called off because of that, but as you say, I don't remember a match being called off at the KC/MKM because of a problem with the playing surface.
I listen to the full interview with Alfie, and he only said we need to be more ruthless and move the ball quicker at times. What some fans seem to fail to notice, is that the few goals we have scored by putting a ball over the top is done by design. The ball is passed between the back 4 encouraging the opposition to push forward and press. The defensive back 4 moves up making a high back line, that triggers the ball over the top, which has worked on a number of occasions. It's a plan, not a random boot up the field.
I'm looking forward to the game, could be a game of chess, but will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Delap and Philogene seem to be building a good understanding, so I guess they will start. Even though he was late back, I would play Seri alongside Morton, Tufan is likely to be on the bench I would guess, and the other conundrum is the LB, Vinagre, Greaves, Coyle or Furlong?
I think most fans can see this. There’s just a minority who can’t. The problem with it in my opinion (and many others) is the risk vs reward. We have scored a few goals from it. But we have also given the ball away in dangerous areas. It also wastes a lot of time - which is precious in football when you are at home (going for the win) or 0-1 down. I think the tactic is good for games when we are 2-0 up or away from home against a top side though. So all in all, I guess it’s about when we choose to use it that’s the issue. Hopefully that solves any bickering - but it probably won’t!
We went. I had a Passat at the time and the rear window would not stay closed. My son who was quite young at the time must have been bloody freezing in the back. **** night, **** game, **** weather and Delroy looked a mile offside but hey, who's complaining.
Unexpectedly getting to the game today. We should have been flying to Rhodes but the incident at LBA has put the kybosh on that! So it's off to the MKM today (2-0 win) followed by flight from East Midlands tomorrow, few days in the sun and back in time to see us beat Preston next weekend
Hi, thats true.....Sat in the open end at the world famous Hockey stadium. City fans massed together like penguins sheltering from the storm....I could swear I saw David Attenborough.
