Thought I would pounce on this one as a simple
example of sttattey in the hands of morons, as an
excuse to be an utter gobsh*te.

So what of it ??
Well, the statistical question is simply this :

when a PL team has 20 pts from their first 8 games,
what can we say about their prospects at season end ??


I took the past 20 seasons, and got the histogram
for final placing for the above. For discourse, I did the
same for 19 pts. Which gave me :

- 20 pts

P = 1 : 3
P = 2 : 4
P = 3 : 3


- 19 pts

P = 1 : 1
P = 2 : 3
P = 3 : 2
P = 4 : 1
P = 5 : 1
P = 6 : 1


So the answer to the question would be
(based on the "source data" ) that Spurs :

1. have a 30% chance of being champions

2. are a very good bet for finishing 1-3
(may be worth some seeing what odds the bookies are
currently offering on this)


and the BBC employs (at your expense) statttery
low education morons to produce space "padding" sh*te

Today is my 30th wedding anniversary!

Considering that my first 2 scarcely made 3 years between them, it's quite the achievement. For once, I'm ahead already, as Mrs B ordered a bespoke card that hasn't turned up, so having remembered this time, I'm very much the hero of the hour.

No booze to celebrate as tomorrow is my second day of venesection (look it up!) and I'm banned for the next 4 months, whilst they try to get my iron levels down...<wah>

Anyway, 3 cheers for Mrs B...she bloody well deserves them. <diva><diva><diva>

I had the first session last Tuesday. The place is tucked away in the furthest recess of a very old hospital. It took me ages to find it.

When I went in, I saw half a dozen of the sickest old men that I've seen in quite a while. I thought, Brian old son, thisis not a club that you want to be a member of.

Once I'd been sat in a chair, had the cannula fitted and started donating "nearly an armful", I noticed that I was the only one whose bag wasn't above my shoulder. Mine had been carefully chucked on the floor. No wonder the others looked so bad, they were all in for a top up!! My blood is deemed Premium +. It's full of iron...life saving for others but slowly killing me!!

A regular Tony Stark! Good to hear you sound positive, although the booze ban sounds a bitch. 4 months! But if it gets you where you need to be, then I guess it's worth it. I cannot imagine listening to The Damned sober <whistle>
