Sad to hear that SAF's wife has passed away. We can credit her with making him stay on in the job when he first thought of retiring and for the success that came from that decision.
It was sad to see that news right after my last post referring to Sir Alex.

The uncompromising will to win.

I wonder why Ten Hag has never thought of that?

You should email it to him <whistle>
That's a very thoughtful response! Perhaps you should email him.

Fact is, ETH has yet to demonstrate that quality. We've more ego over purpose by starting players out of form when others are waiting to take their place. Keeper has cost us how many games? Rashford is still guaranteed a start. Bruno plays a full game, even if he's shooting in the other direction. I can go on!

I hope he doesn't deteriorate as a result, she was always his sidekick.

I haven't started watching yet, but the Beckham documentary seems to be as much about football management as Beckham himself.

I've got one observation, can you imagine David Beckham refusing to play or being as disrespectful to Ferguson (and the shirt) as Sancho has been to Ten Hag and United?

People can say different times, different era as much as they like, I don't give a ****.

People like Sancho, and Pogba, and Lingard would have been sussed out and shown the door quickly by Fergie.

I just finished watching it this morning. It is indeed insightful and above all, just showed that the success that we had under Sir Alex was not simply a gift because of great players. He constructed and cultivated it on solid principles of how to be a decent hard working human being for the team. Those principles and his instincts on who will be a great player for the team, created that success over and over again.

An incredible man and manager! I hope he finds strength to continue.

Just a thought but after today's result maybe no one should do another match thread for the rest of the season.

Btw Danny Murphy on MOTD reckons after today McTominay should start every game. Yes, he's very underrated and has been treated unfairly. Apparently.

Danny has failed to mention this before today of course. And has the best interests of MUFC at heart.

McT is in a very unfortunate position, his heart is truly in the club and i think he would die for it. He always gives 100% and never shirks a tackle or challinge, he has great stamina to last a full game plus 30mins additional.

The downside is he's not very good technically or positionally (tactically aware). Great player if you could teach him these things :(

When he first broke through he had a lot of potential. I saw him as another Fletcher. A solid box to box mf. But tbh his development stunted, largely under Ole. He's never progressed and with all the chopping and changing in the squad never built up a decent midfield partnership or stability in the side. He's still more than capable of doing well in another PL side like Everton, Fulham, West Ham, or Aston Villa.

I always had him down as a BtoB player as you probably know.
His rep took a massive hit in the famed McFred combo which (imho) did neither of them any good, with a true holding mid next to them both would look/be much better.

Yeh even just solid CM. Which is why the Fletcher and Carrick partnership worked so well. Like I said he never had a chance (nor was there ever a plan) to develop that.

It's done now though, a bit late for him imo.

Welcome if unexpected (at the end) 3 points. Like v Burnley some respite for ETH and the club.

WTF happened to Rashford? Just given a huge contract and his form has gone off the cliff. Related?
