Right hiding this. Very un English batting, no one getting going. Root stuck in his crease too much again, something he seems to do in 50 over cricket. 77 is canny, but not in 86 balls. There are only 300 in the innings. You have to get going when you're that far in. Not at the races at all with bat or ball. Lot of work to do.
The commentators gave out a stat, its the first time ever in International ODI cricket that every batsman has gotten double figures, so everyone of them got a start and then, apart from Root threw it away
Yep. Still not convinced about us on this type of pitch. Flat and fast and we're favourites against anyone, but there'll not be many in India.
In commentary they also mentioned England's journeys for the tournament and alluded to the fact they have a lot more travelling to do than other teams, thats got to be just a co-incidence
Feels like one last dance for a few of these lads. I can see a raft of international white ball retirements after the tournament - Woakes, Moeen, Wood, Stokes, Rashid....
09:30 start, Afghanistan bottom of the table. Win this and get our run rate up gets us into 4th, above Pakistan, top 4 go through to semi finals (quite a way off at the moment)
I wonder if they've underestimated them by putting them in thinking that they'll bowl them out easily - that plan has gone way out of the window!
