But my TV argument is valid is it not?
You can say that alone doesn't make anyone a big club, and i'd agree, but being on all the time means they know they get loads of views when we are on, otherwise they wouldn't do it so often, that's pretty clear.
Interesting question.
I'd say there is media bias as there is in everything to do with the media, I'm not sure what drives it though. It's not gone unnoticed in the lower leagues how much publicity Wrexham have got, as someone questioned the other week, two clubs got menshy's, Wrexham and Notts County, and the question was asked have you actually looked to see who's top of the league (at that time). I heard my lot got some publicity this weekend, some show that was broadcast interviewing the manager and club owner I believe (I've still to see it). So is it about being a big club or is it really about how you market yourself - that would certainly be true of Wrexham , no?
Newcastle have powerful buyers/owners, I'm not sure that any media company wants to be left out of any potential growth, by not broadcasting you now. Newcastle and Sunderland, have a massive fanbase between, much like Man Utd and Man City, well ok just Man Utd lol. TV companies want viewing figures, they are not going to get that by showing Luton v Sheff Utd, otherwise the old man might decide he'll prefer to go shopping with the Mrs, oh well ok, he'll go in the pub while she browses the shops.
So what conclusion have I drawn from all this, fook knows, but you aint a big club, you are fates constant runner-up, and I can't see that tag changing any time soon.
