We could have a system where anybody who wants to have a kid has to pay a deposit of £10000 to the government. This is then put in a savings-fund. If the kid gets to 18 without committing an offense, that costs the government money(jailable etc), the family get the money plus the interest back. If not the government keeps it to offset any costs incurred. Its essentially a sort of child liability insurance.

There may be unintended consequences:
1. Birth rate would probably fall dramatically which wouldn't be very good for us oldies needed young kids coming through to pay our pensions
2. Poorer/single parents are less likely to have children which could lead to a fall in crime. Studies in the States showed that legalising abortion there was the biggest factor in reducing crime a couple of decades later.

Where's Winsiton Smith when you need him? <laugh>

Reckon it's likely ... we went down with 3 players that left to join top 6 Prem sides and 3 that are now at Atleti, Sevilla and Betis respectively ... can't think of one current Everton player that would be of interest to any of them tbh ...

here we go again, Everton we’re not bad enough to go down thanks to Leicester.

thanks again for taking part today.

I think what we prove from our discussions is that there are ways to reduce crime if we can get MP's that are commited enough. Yes some will scream and shout that is so unfair, but tbph I'd rather they just scream, shout and stamp their feet than seeing another kid stabbed up.

We just seem to be doing nothing about it, I can't read an online local rag or watch media on tv without seeing another stabbing, I just don't get why we are just accepting this, which is what we are doing, by doing nothing.
