I reckon he'll not play, mate. Probably have an injury or illness leading up to it.

Looking at it sensibly, without the banter, I'd say they'll struggle.

It's extraordinary that Ainsworth has allowed the players to decide the style of play and worse that he tried to impose another then dumped it.

That's not the kind of way good managers operate, it just shows how he wants to be one of the lads and Mr Popular.

He got away with his underdog routine at Wycombe but won't at QPR once the novelty wears off.

The skill from Pritchard, for the winner, was absolutely top class ...

... the last one was excellent as well, great ball round the corner.

Sheff Wed and Rotherham both look like certs for relegation. Think the 3rd place is anyone’s guess but QPR will definitely be down there.

Huddersfield got to be a shout as well. Boro be lucky with top half this season their squad looks shocking compared to last season. One of my mates is a big Boro fan and thought we’d struggle without Diallo until I mentioned that we only had one loanee who really made an impact whereas them amongst others had numerous loanees that played a big part in their season.

Archer, Ramsay, Giles and Steffen are harder for them to replace than Diallo for us plus Akpom had the season of his life. That’s pretty much half of their best Xl from last season gone.

Looking at it another way, we were beyond abysmal in pre-season, losing 5-0 at Oxford a week before the season and then got destroyed by a mediocre Watford team on the first day playing the Wycombe way. Since then we’ve won two away games deservedly and ought to have got a point against two fancied teams before yesterday, playing some good football in the process relative to the players available.

I think it could be argued it’s a sign of a good manager to admit it’s not working and find a new formation that suits the group you have.

    Great game yesterday.

Dealt with the qpr "tactics" very well. I originally thought shame jewi and rigg didn't get a run out, but then changed my mind as both of played during the international break and I'm sure TM didn't want their legs taken out by QPR. The subs were bigger lads and probably better suited to the play.

It's looking good for us this season, promotion is definitely a possibility. Reckon game against Leicester in October is going to be a good marker about where we will end up (if we'll be challenging or the top runner)

In any case, I'm flying in for the Norwich game on the 28th October so we better not collapse before that !

That's a decent defence and I take your point.

But what happens if this 'new style' fades, what next ...

... it's not as if Ainsworth arrived this summer, he was there last season so it's taken him a while to work things out.

As an outsider I just don't rate him and his attritional, backs to the wall, empty the tank approach.

Missed the game yesterday as we had a family day out for my son's birthday. Kept up with the scores of course and watched the highlights back this morning.
I expected a battle, but it looks like we were comfortably the better team and should have scored more. Colback's cowardly challenge on a kid half his age was a disgrace and 100% a red card
Ainsworth was very complimentary about us again - he seems to be one of the few managers who has a fair opinion on games when he loses.

Amazing how the world looks now, 10 points from 4 games and seemingly endless options in the squad

Bad news on Cirkin and it's yet another injury for the kid which is a worry, but now is Huggins' chance to nail down a spot in the team - I assume his substitution at HT yesterday was tactical and not injury/performance related?
