Late one last night. Twenty to one when we got back to Nottingham. Police stopping cars from bypassing the A63 via Hessle foreshore as the bridge back over the 63 was also closed.

Dawdler. Back home in Leicester bang on midnight. Over the bridge, M180, M18, M1. Had to slow down on the 'smart' bits.

Don’t mind the DJ or Falling in Love. It was immediately before the teams walked out when they played The Greatest Show that I thought was cringe. It was all very much like that TV show ‘Glee’ or High School Musical. Cringe and ****.

It was a bit strange that we went through all that, just to pause for a minutes silence straight after, slightly defeated the purpose...

Coventry haven't got where they are by playing sublime football, they have got there by stopping other teams. If the ref is weak they'll do it all the more. We're just very nice in comparison. As for Conolly, I think we have to accept that he's likely to be a 1 chance in 4 or 5 striker... I like the way we're playing I really do, I just would personally like us to be a bit more front foot from the off.
Re Connoly think he left the glue that he normally has on his boot laces in the dressing room. Early on he got himself in a great positon and if he had taken the ball like he has in the past he would have been clear on goal but the ball came down on his boot but it did not stick. And at that point I thought he was not himself and lo and behold he went on to miss 2 good chances. Grateful that he got his last chance.

May we’ll have been posted already, but just saw this
Great gesture

EDIT - Why don’t Twitter links show a screenshot of the content anymore? Or is there something you can do that I’m missing? Cheers

It’s because that dipshit Musk changed the name from Twitter to X and now the system doesn’t recognise them, so they can’t be embedded. Hopefully it will be fixed.

Thought we played some great football at times.
Seri, Philogene and Delap were class. Don't get why Seri was taken off so early (I know he's been on international duty but he's hardly played); he was running the show for us. We didn't get the ball to Delap enough (familiar story).
I wouldn't say Coverntry were particularly dirty. They were strong and well organised, and just did what most teams do nowadays. The problem for the ref first half was that it wasn't the same player making fouls repeatedly, so not so easy to book someone as the tally increases.
Frustrating as we should have won it. We were the better side, especially as the game wore on. But sort of get where Steverico seems to be coming from, we somehow need to be more positive, more '**** you', as well as much more clinical. Hopefully that comes in time now Rosenior has his players, but, based on evidence to date, I'm not sure attacking play is his forte. TWT.
All good if we beat Leeds next week.
Agree re Seri as you said he was running the show and was on top of his game, like you. dont know why he was taken off.

I thought Vinagre had a good first half. Why was he taken off what was I missing?
I thought when he was going forward he looked ok and sometimes pretty good but he abandoned his defensive duties too readily for my liking. Their right winger had a free run to the dead ball line most of the half.

I've watched the goal a few times now from all different angles. I'm going to put it out there...... I'm not sure you'll see a better headed goal all season anywhere

Jay Simpson scored a similar goal a few years back. Javier Hernández scored like it for Man Utd too.

I thought similar about taking Seri off at the time, but then his replacement got the all important assist, so I certainly ain't gonna be telling Rosenior he got it wrong. Subs and tweaks at half time were once again spot on for me.

I thought Vinagre had a good first half. Why was he taken off what was I missing?
The thing I noticed about Vinagre was that virtually every time the ball was passed to him he turned and passed it back, on a couple of rare occasions he passed it square but he seemed to stifle our forward momentum just about every time the ball came to him, it was really noticeable that he only uses his right foot for standing on.

A bit early to judge but maybe HFFP was right about him.

He's not wrong, we always seem to start games at a slower tempo, if you look at pretty much every goal we've scored this season it's come from us upping the tempo and transitioning quicker. The single most frustrating thing we do at times is have the opportunity to break l, but slow it down and give the opposition time to get back into shape and set up.
Spot on - also, with much quicker forwards now available it's disappointing that we don't shift the ball into the space behind the defence when the opportunity arises. Lots of good attacking opportunities missed.

He(Connolly) has scored 4 goals thus far.I'm struggling to think of the 12-16 chances he's spurned in order to get them.

I think we've got a very good asset in the lad and he looks as if he's loving the part he's playing? O.K,he scuffed one past the post last-night but he more than made up for it by grabbing our equaliser.
