He's scored a few incredible goals already, unreal.

One of the podcasts I listen to when reviewing transfer windows in the Championship talked up us signing Connolly because "He only seems to be able to score goals in a City shirt", they're not wrong. <laugh>

Sometimes players just fit at certain clubs, hopefully we are that club for him and so far it's looking good!

I am still a little worried though about what happens if he and or delap are out for a period. Hopefully we get lucky and it's never an issue. But come Jan I'd say it's something we really need to address.

Thought we played some great football at times.
Seri, Philogene and Delap were class. Don't get why Seri was taken off so early (I know he's been on international duty but he's hardly played); he was running the show for us. We didn't get the ball to Delap enough (familiar story).
I wouldn't say Coverntry were particularly dirty. They were strong and well organised, and just did what most teams do nowadays. The problem for the ref first half was that it wasn't the same player making fouls repeatedly, so not so easy to book someone as the tally increases.
Frustrating as we should have won it. We were the better side, especially as the game wore on. But sort of get where Steverico seems to be coming from, we somehow need to be more positive, more '**** you', as well as much more clinical. Hopefully that comes in time now Rosenior has his players, but, based on evidence to date, I'm not sure attacking play is his forte. TWT.
All good if we beat Leeds next week.
Just watched Rosie’s interview from last night and he mentioned us not moving the ball forward quickly enough in the first half and said that they addressed it at halftime with the players, tweaked a couple of things tactically, which helped bring about a more attacking intent in the second half.

He's not wrong, we always seem to start games at a slower tempo, if you look at pretty much every goal we've scored this season it's come from us upping the tempo and transitioning quicker. The single most frustrating thing we do at times is have the opportunity to break l, but slow it down and give the opposition time to get back into shape and set up.

Not to be too ‘negative’ but I think the pre-match stuff is really cringe. Credit to Coventry fans though. Best fans I’ve seen at the MKM. They were brilliant last season too.
What part don’t you like, the DJ, singing falling in love with you because I love it. Coventry fans very good but so was we at Leicester when 1.0 up. One disappointment for me is the fact that the fans are great until going behind then to quiet when the team really need them. Mind you first half last night there wasn’t a lot to get the support going although it works both ways. Once we scored it was a terrific atmosphere in the stadium and for the first time Coventry went silent.

Cov fans said we had no answer to ‘Twist and Shout’ do we need a high temp bouncy song - didn’t we do Quo ‘ rocking all over the world ‘ I’m not suggesting it but our songs sound like dirges . The young uns don’t listen to anything memorable and bouncy do they ?
just asking - oh no! I’ve sobered up too!
Can't help but think of Mark Wood's Barmy Army song when I hear it
Shake it up Woody now (shake it up Woody)
Pace and bounce (pace and bounce)...

Half time last season we got New Order's wonderful Age Of Consent, we've reverted back to f**king Layla by Derek and the Domino's, shambles City, hang the DJ.

Don’t mind the DJ or Falling in Love. It was immediately before the teams walked out when they played The Greatest Show that I thought was cringe. It was all very much like that TV show ‘Glee’ or High School Musical. Cringe and ****.

Because it's a song for a different demographic?

I wasn’t there last night but if it was the same build up to the Bristol City game, I quite enjoyed it. Beat the awful atmosphere pre some of the latter Allam games.

Coventry haven't got where they are by playing sublime football, they have got there by stopping other teams. If the ref is weak they'll do it all the more. We're just very nice in comparison. As for Conolly, I think we have to accept that he's likely to be a 1 chance in 4 or 5 striker... I like the way we're playing I really do, I just would personally like us to be a bit more front foot from the off.

EFL refs are absolute ****e. Leicester fans had every right to be annoyed. The ref took the piss in that game and the ref tonight took the piss as well. Delap was fouled after beating their last defender; should’ve been a red. Binks somehow got away with sitting on Delap for ten seconds then rabbit-punching him when he finally decided to get off him.

There was also the persistent fouling throughout the first half and most of the second half that didn’t even result in one yellow card. I think they got their first yellow in the 80th minute. What an absolute mockery of the game. Can’t argue with refs or make a gesture indicating the other player deserves a card though; that would make the refs look like the silly, incompetent ****s they are.

If you want to see ''absolute ****e'' refereeing you should take in a National League North game - I've been to a couple of Scunny games and I think that league is the one where they let the ****e referees practice before they move up them up the league ladder!
