Firstly, sorry if anybody has already posted this (been on holiday in a cottage with no gas or Phone line, let alone internet).

On BBC Final Score during the Blackburn game, the 'pundits' made the following comments:

"And now to Ewood Park, where as expected, Joey Barton receives a yellow card

"Yes, absolutely. Barely a game goes past without Barton being booked"

"He is one of those players who does get booked a lot. It has become an almost mandatory ocurrance."

Now I'm sorry, but desdpite his past, you'd expect footballing pundits to actually know who a player is.
He has virtually cleaned up his act (baring the Pedersen thing which may have cost him an England call up, plays fairly, and does NOT GET BOOKED DAY IN DAY OUT!!! STOP STEREOTYPING YOU IGNORANT EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS. TRY LOOKING UP THE STATS FOR PLAYERS BEFORE SLAGGING THEM OFF AS DIRTY CHEATS. SOME PLAYERS (DE JONG) MAY BE, BUT BARTON CERTAINLY ISN'T.:mad::mad:

Rant over now...

Norfolk?

As for the Barton slight. I heard it and thought it was unfounded. I'd have thought that Rooney challenge against the Crawley player where he tried to dry hump him in mid leap was a far worse challenge from the ill-educated hooker lover than Barton's challenge.

When I saw that and the commentator's completely ignored it, I thought 'I wonder what would have been said if that was Barton who committed that challenge'.

It's annoying, but we learn to live with the media being dicks.

Barton gets booked regularly, because of his name. People dare not insult the goldenboy of English football Sir Wayne of Rooney.

Tiote and Nolan have recieved more (albeit not much more) yellow cards than Barton in the league this season. If either of those get a yellow card nobody winces an eye, but if Barton gets booked "he should be banned from football".

Joey has got 6 yellow cards all season, not that much ffs.

Tiote has 9 yellow cards and is on the verge of a two game ban, but that's just because of his aggressive style of play, where as if Joey Barton gets a suspension, it's "typical thuggery, deserves his ban".

Was that the yellow card for kicking the ball away when he tried to keep it in play? Or the 'headbutt' against Birmingham when he went 50/50 to head the ball? Or the deliberate hand ball against the mackems when he went up for the header and the ball hit his arm...
