The selling of Iwobi was quite interesting as he looked like their only player with a semblance of talent.

With him and Gordon gone, and DCL an injury waiting to happen, these are fun times.

Yeah Iwobi going with no inbound to replace him was quite telling.

There is also talk of Demari Gray going to Saudi this week too. They will have no attacking options available.

Second lowest scorers in division last season, and their attack is much worse now, Dwight McNeil top scorer will a mere 7 goals in 36 games, and with Gray off, Doucoure was their only other real scorer last season with 5 league goals. Once again pinning their hopes on a crippled DCL.

    Ahahahaha.

So Demarai Gray officially off to Saudi, so that's him and Iwobi gone, Maupay off on loan to Brentford, and even the most optimistic Everton will admit Calvert-Lewin is going to be a useless as ever this season.

Fun times ahead for Everton and playing Arsenal next. Might head over to the Grand Old Team for a laff....

    Summer Transfer Window

Some of the smallest outlays were at two of the promoted clubs (Luton Town £20m and Sheffield United £56m), while Everton and Crystal Palace also spent a relatively low amount with £35m.

Four Premier League clubs ended up with net sales. Acknowledged masters of the transfer market, Brighton and Hove Albion, generated £77m, followed by Wolves £67m, Everton £37m and West Ham £16m.

In the last 5 years, only two clubs in the Premier League generated net sales: Brighton £80m and Everton £4m. The Seagulls’ result was particularly impressive, given that selling many of their leading players does not seem to have harmed their performances on the pitch.

    Money’s Too Tight To Mention

All clubs have a challenge to comply with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability regulations, but two clubs have struggled more than most recently, namely Everton and Wolves.

Everton splashed out £647m in the five years up to 2020/21, but have turned off the taps in the last three years, all of which have produced net sales.

They only spent £35m this summer, the third lowest in the top flight, bringing in Beto from Udinese and Chermiti from Sporting, while making twice as much (£72m) from player sales, mainly Moise Kean to Juventus, Alex Iwobi to Fulham and Demarai Gray to Al-Ettifaq.

777 taken ownership - a great insight into their ownership of other sporting venutres:
"They are a company which has a large sporting portfolio. They have ownership stakes in Standard Liege in Belgium, Genoa in Italy, Vasco da Gama and Hertha Berlin among others. They also have a stake in the British Basketball League over here.

"They have very much got a portfolio full of distressed assets and struggling football clubs, and while there has been considerable work undertaken in growing their portfolio, there’s been very little in terms of on-pitch success to suggest that this will be any different for Everton."

"It’s been a really bruising few years for Everton fans, and they can't seem to catch a break. There will be a lot of questions around whether becoming part of a larger organisation, a multi-club model where there’s been no real signal of success for many of the other clubs is the appropriate cause of action."

They somehow made £28m selling Moise Kean to Juventus, with his beautiful strike rate at Everton of 2 goals in 32 games. Not to worry though, it's not like they're gonna buy anyone with the money.
