To some extent wouldn't surprise me considering they need to cash in on him!

The more time goes on, the more I think Maynard seems to blow hot and cold. I don't think he's consistent enough for us. We need a striker that can bang in a goal every couple of games, a 20+ a season type - I don't think Maynard's that player.

Same here. All our strikers, even Forte, seem to be able to convert the 6 yard box chance on 87 minutes, when we need it. Maynard strikes me as a player who'll miss a few of those when presented to him. Just a feeling, based on seeing highlights, results and reports. Hopefully, you get the idea.

However, Maynard and Mackail-Smith have something that will threaten even the top defences: pace. If we add a striker then we should be looking for someone with pace. As for Maynard I rate him as he seems technically good. I don't know if he is having a great time at Bristol City this year but it does not matter if he fits our team well, just look at Hooiveld and Chaplow, they were not doing well for their respective clubs but they have resurrected their careers at St Mary's.

Well that's true enough.

Would I be disappointed to sign Maynard come into the building? No, of course I wouldn't. But I think there are better options out there.

I really rate him and he is my choice for a new striker if we get one. He has brilliant potential and Adkins would make him more consistent.

why is everyone obsessed with pace? ****ing goons it's a typical English attitude and why we will never win a major competition without major changes to the culture

We need someone as said earlier who an provide pace as that is what I think we're lacking ths season, Maynard would be good but not pain astronimial fees at the same time
