My MOM was Davis. What a player, dominates his side, great forward runs, astonishing energy, and pinpoint passes.

And he dashes back to help out.
I hope we can keep him til the Prem!

Like many on here I wrote us off at 2-0 down - even caught myself thinking very negatively about our squad and chances for the season.

I think we can put that down to bad memories from the previous era... Very glad to be proved wrong. But looks like the defensive lessons we're identifying needs to be quickly learnt. Not sure we can keep getting away with it - or maybe that's the overall strategy for the season - Score more goals then we concede..

I am sure the defensive uncertainties are down to new players coming in and facing much more experienced forwards. Haldky doesnt control or marshall his defence like Walton, but he did pull off some amazing saves today.

Tbh Williams was a different class to Clarke when he came on.

Donacien coped just fine. Clarke just has not been at the races so far.

I think Walton would have got finger tips to one or two that Hladky has conceded but Hladky’s distribution and outfield play is better I reckon so it probably evens out.

Think there's alot of humble pie about tonight <whistle>Ladapo in attack<whistle>.. I told you all what a great player he would be to bring on when town are chasing a game!!

What a great result, especially after going 2 down. We've been punished for being sloppy at the back the past few games and have to say the majority of those coming down our right, with Clarke not looking great and actually being beaten for pace a few times. I wonder if that injury is impacting him more than we think at the moment..have to say he never 100% convinced me defensively last season but not anywhere near as badly as he has this season. Probably doesn't help that we have one of the best 1 vs 1 RBs I've seen in Donacien to compare him to, although clearly Clarke is more comfortable in possession. I get the feeling Williams will be in the RB role before long, even though he's been brought in primarily as a LB I can't see him ousting Davis...our own player.

We have looked suspect defensively this season and whilst Hladky has made some great saves he's not the same reassuring keeper as Walton and I think this does have an impact however I think we've looked suspect defensively early on in the past couple of seasons and have just got better as the season went on and a positive going forwards is we have looked dangerous in every game we've played so far even if things haven't been going our way and for me that is an improvement on how we started last season.

Still don't rate ladapo, just think he is too lazy, other than a sharp turn and finish, he done **** all when he came on!! Scarlett starts ahead of ladapo imo,
With regards to Clarke, I love him, he is 100% committed to the cause, he is better on the ball and going forward than JD but JD is a better defender. Personally I prefer Clarke just because he gives you so much more going forward and with a good run in the side, I think you can iron out those mistakes. Saying all that I, like ptc, think Williams will make that spot his.
I do think it's time to give Taylor a run alongside Morsy, obviously if morsy is injured then it will be alongside Luongo but I thought together morsy and Luongo looked very slow yesterday!!

Many of us like Freddie and his mercurial ways. Often just happens to be in the right place at the right time! In this respect he is just the right player to confuse a well organised set up that Cardiff had.

No good Clarke surging frwd if he cant defend! Agree with you about Taylor, time the Capt had someone in his boots esp if he has an injury.

2 games a week ahead so we will need good squad turnarounds.

Fantastic comeback. Our right side is not working for me. Think it’s only a matter of time until Williams starts at RB, think Burns might also be rested. Leif is unbelievable on the left - still can’t believe we picked him up when we were a league 1 team. Hopefully can get Hirst and Morsy fit over the international break

A great win but Cardiff soon worked out that our defencive frailties were on our right side, Clarke was poor and possibly not fit but he was let down by Burns being absent when he needed some help, this led to their first goal with Woolfy having to move across leaving a big gap between himself and Burgess, this right back position needs some serious looking at.
The injury to Hirst sounds as though he came back too early so lets hope they get him fully recovered before he comes back again its a long season so no need to rush.
It was an exciting game to watch and the comeback sent PR mental, its a shame we played the first half at such a slow pace when all that was needed was some pace and energy which Cardiff coulnt live with.

Some great points here - Burns used to bust a gut to help out and defend. We haven’t seen that from him this season. Maybe the reason Clarke keeps looking over his shoulder is because he’s thinking, “where the f is Wes?”

I was at my granddaughter s birthday party so no access to the game, popped out for a call of nature , checked my phone just to see us go 2 nil down , no idea of the comeback, until much later on. Seeing the scoreline rounded off a pretty good day.
