It’s deadline day and what this forum needs is a poll and a place to debate the most pressing issue heading into deadline day.

    Striker or lack of.

Based on rumours from well respected sources

Che Adams - Our current top striker was expected to sign a new contract, but missed the paper and accidentally signed a loan agreement to Wolverhampton. In a panic he signed the contract extension at the second time of asking, but that wasn’t enough to prevent him being exiled to Birmingham for a year.

Tall Paul - Totem Paul has not featured at all this pre-season and looks set to go back to Genk either in a swap or some other way.

Sekou Mara - Looks like a loan move to Werder Bremen has been agreed for the confused Frenchman

Dom Ballard - The u21s top scorer from last season and back to back hat trick maker doesn’t look like he’ll get a chance here and has been rewarded with a year at Reading and Ruben Selles.

This leaves Adam Armstrong as our only striker. A players whose two recent man of the match performances have come from
    him playing in midfield!

Saints have however recognized the issue and look set to complete the £8m signing of Sunderland Striker Ross Stewart, with one small caveat - He is out injured for at least a month.

How shall we get out of this mess, who should the club sign?

No - people are putting 2+2 together and getting 22. I think it came from where West Ham were linked with Solanke. There is an assumption he is out of favour. But if he moves his wages almost certainly rule us out

Distorts the poll though - putting an unrealistic option in

Yep, definitely counts as a double-barrel for me. Unfortunately though I think too many Prem teams want him.

Has the wolves loan/contract extension happened? I can’t see it confirmed anywhere.

I don’t know anything about these strikers, I like the idea of Duk. No first/second name, just “Duk”.

I voted Ings, not because I have any hope of getting him, but to use a Nathan Jonesism,

"With Respect", he is a top notch striker and would destroy the Championship.

I assumed everyone would be better informed than me, so I did the same and then found this ^ <laugh>

Also sounds like a striker to me

Alternative was Duk based on name and just seen I’m following someone else on that too

Duk apparently is really good on corners and nothing to do with being 5" 11'.

The cross comes in and to make sure he goes for it, all his teammates shout "Duk"

The defenders don't stand a chance....

Looks better with hyphen Chris Peter-Duk. You know it makes sense.
