Most likely an Adams replacement. Will be a shame to lose Che but the club obviously rate Stewart. There were links in January too I think.
Relatively early in the summer as well it was reported that he was Russ’ number one target, so that’s a positive.
If he is on the injured list, isn’t a medical a bit pointless. He will fail it. I’m not medically trained , apart from expired first aid certificate, circa 1983, but injured footballers shouldn’t be examined for injuries if you want a good’un.
A medical is more for any long term issues like heart defects or issues that may prevent him from recovering from any current injuries.
I must have missed the testing for heart conditions when I did my First aid for Beginners. Slings, bandages, leeches, that sort of thing.
I took a course on a defibrillator. The sight of me with one of those is enough to get any heart attack victim on their feet and running for the door
Great signing. Sunderland would still be in L1 without him. If Russell can keep Ross Stewart fit Saints will get promoted.
The season before last in league 1 he made a lot of appearances, but not that many in the seasons before that. Has he had other injury problems before joining Sunderland?
Since May 2022 he's made 14 appearances I think. Not even all starts. By the time he returns that'll be 14 in 17 or 18 months. Big risk, with our upcoming fixtures I’d hope we have another target as well
Presumably his lower appearances before the league one promotion was due to age/breaking through/starting on the bench etc, rather than injury.
Some football fans need to get a sense of perspective to be honest. Imagine sitting in a shelled-out village in Ukraine and seeing this?
