Not entirely true because loaning him for 50m is 50m in the expenditure and therefore has a 50m ffp over one season where as already being at the club his cost has been amortised over contract and if we sell for 80m it’s 80m profit and a huge plus for ffp
Too many ifs, buts and maybes here. We don't know how high a genuine offer might be, or how much it might depreciate by next year. Guess now, and it could all change depending on how good a season he has.
Gomez being linked to Saudi now. Absolutely zero chance we sell him this late, with Konate injured until after internationals. Vvd suspended and doubts over Matip. End up with no defenders for next game if he goes
That's actually quite amusing... but only because I don't believe it. I don't rate Gomez particularly highly, certainly not compared to starting XI, but he's a useful homegrown squad member.
I don't know if I'm correct here, but as it's up to each authority to make their own rules, can't we just change our transfer window so that it covers outs as well as ins? After a few years then most leagues would probably become more or less congruent, at least in the northern hemisphere where the seasons are similar.
I don't know how this words par se. the windows apply to registering the player with the authority in charge. I don't know ow thst the English fa could block transfer of the players registration from their end?
not unless you go a long way in it . The figures everyone gives for CL income is revenue only and doesn't take into account costs of which performance bonus payments can be eye wateringly high.
I've no idea of the technicalities, which is why I posed the question. It just seems an obvious way to prevent players from being poached outside of our ability to replace them. Clubs can always just refuse to sell contracted players of course, but that can lead to disruption in the squad.
Wasn't talking about competing in the CL, just qualifying for it for next season (getting top four this season). We were talking about whether or not to sell Salah now with a £50m variance on the sale figure
well surely that was the point of whether or not qualifying for CL would offset a £50m variance or am i missing something ? which considering the way i'm feeling today is quite possible
top 4 gets to the group phase of the cl. that's 15mil before you kick a ball. in 21/22 here is the breakdown Liverpool Participation: €15.6million Prize money: €66.3million TV pool: €17.1million Coefficient: €22.7million Rebate: -€4.1million 2021-22 total: €117.6million yes there's massive money for getting to win it in prize money but the money just handed over for being in it is massive. compare to europa league. you.can device thr above by 4.
If we're selling any defenders this window, it would have to be Matip or Kostas because we really need to open up that non HG spot.
