Watched Fatherhood (Kevin Hart) on Netflix tonight ... not my choice but surprisingly good ...give it a 7.5 ...
Not as good as Spotlight I'll agree there but better than Bombshell imo. I thought it did a great job of telling the story and exposing Weinstein without sensationalising the whole thing. Both actresses were excellent.
It resembled a made for TV movie. The storyline was weak and so obviously drawn out. They didn't even show the Weinstein character iirc until very late in the movie. Spotlight way out in front, but Bombshell was much more detailed, very good script and was much better made than She Said. Even then, 8.8
I think you're missing the point, if they had sensationalised and added dramatic effect some would have jumped all over it so it remains at times quite dull in the execution of the film which is true to life. The drama was in the story itself and the shocking disregard for human beings by the Hollywood elite. I thought the whole thing was handled brilliantly by the cast and the story was enough without trying to add drama. Zoe Kazan especially, her acting was subtle but really conveyed the emotion of what she was uncovering.
Interesting fact just seen on a documentary. Scorsese and Spielberg are old buddies, been helping each other out on films since the 70's. At one point Scorsese had the rights to Schindlers Ark as he wanted to make the film. Spielberg was toying with the idea of remaking Cape Fear. During a meet up they spoke about both and decided to take on each other's films. And the rest as they say is history.
Although Schindler's Ark was **** tbf ...CGI animals and a cumbersome barge just didn't cut it ... Schindler's List on the other hand
Scorcese, Spielberg, De Palma, Freidkin and Lucas were all great friends and helped each other on early projects. Coppola actually helped finance American Graffiti.
