Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but that new series Lioness seems very good have watched first 2 episodes and have really enjoyed it
I'm half way through season two. I only started the first season last week but can't stop binging. I get what you're saying about not being able to describe it. Its stressful as ****, chaotic and intense. I've just finished watching 'fishes' and it feels like the peak moment of the whole series. Raw as ****, a proper insight into Carmy and his family relationships that make him the way he is. Excellent television and something quite different to most other shows.
I couldn't explain what it's about in a way that makes it sound as good as it is. I re-watched 1st series in 3 days and watched 2nd series in 2 days. One thing that stand out with 2nd series is it that the show must have went down well with other actors etc... as there are some pretty big names having cameos. Fishes is excellent episode and you are right shows why he was away and focussed on his job, you find yourself cringing at times.
I think its excellent. What I like most is that the dialogue seems so natural. It's like normal conversations rather than scripted stuff that you'd never say.
I watched this show on my own as something to pass the time while lifting weights, it didn't get great reviews. About halfway through (it's a miniseries based on a book) I started paying proper attention and after I finished it I watched it all over again with my wife. Big fan of it. The setup is that a girl (David Duchovny's daughter incidentally) gets killed during a luxury Caribbean holiday and you figure out who it was. However without giving anything away, that's not the point of the show at all and the real reason for its existence is something entirely different that you don't see coming and knocks you for six when it does.
That trailer wouldn't have enticed me btw, it makes it look like a generic murder mystery when it's a lot more than that.
I'm now into S9 of my X Files re-watch. It's completely lost the plot at this point. Mulder is away and the stories are basically all rehashes of better previous episodes. The resolution to S8 was ridiculous.
The Six Million Dollar Man has started again on Legend. Apparently it's the first time in decades it's been on. Surprisingly good so far. Very seventies serious, I wonder how they get from the first two episodes to scrapping with Bigfoot
Watched The Bear 'Forks' tonight, I think it's my favourite so far. It was great seeing Ritchie finally get a win and a top drawer episode all round.
I really liked it too, little bit like a modern Columbo in that it's not so much about who did it as how they get caught, and a 'detective' who knows who is guilty early doors but has to prove it.
I've binged the first season of "Only Murders in the building" this week. It's a spoof of the true crime podcast genre starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. It's very enjoyable, something to switch your brain off for and not take seriously. The last episode of the series in particular was excellent with a brilliant visual comedy performance from Steve Martin. It had me laughing out loud with it's stupidity.
